Ok Ok

The new day sun shown it's light down upon Brite. He could see it's light through his eyelids, and he opened his eyes to see a sapphire blue sky above him. He sat up and touched a hand to his face. He let his fingers trace along his nose and mouth. It was still him.
He saw that Fern was digging through the supplies in the tent looking for something.
"Aw c'mon, c'mon."
He mumbled to himself while digging through stacks of papers.
Frost was coming up from the trees behind Brite. He was holding a small leather bound bag filled with something unknown. He walked up to the camp with a grin on his face.
"Good morning Brite."
He then glanced over at Fern, who was still engaged in rifling through the tent.
"You know if you kept your things organized you would be able to find them easier."
Fern didn't turn around to look at Frost but instead he simply said,
"Not all people operate how you do Frost, I am a much more efficient individual when I just go with the flow."
Frost sighed and then turned back to Brite. He sat down beside Brite in a cross legged position. Then he untied the leather to reveal bunches of little orange star shaped berries.
"These are star berries. They're a helpful little energy boost for your day."
He picked one up and held it between his fingers.
"Open wide."
Frost opened up his own mouth and held out the berry like he was teaching a baby to eat. Brite opened up his mouth and Frost placed the berry on his tongue. Brite closed his mouth and began chew. He closed his eyes without even thinking about doing it. He smiled as he chewed.
The berry was sweet and it gave off a fizzy feeling on his tongue. It spurted a kind of juice that invigorated the muscles in his mouth. This was the first thing he had ever eaten, and he loved it.
It was when Brite re-opened his eyes they he saw Fern standing outside the tent with his arms full of straps, buckles, and protective leather armor.
"I've found it!"
Fern said triumphantly as he dropped down and sat beside Brite and Frost.
Frost tossed him the bag to Fern, and he caught it with one hand. He opened up the bag and took three of the berries up in his hands. He threw all three of them in his mouth at once and chomped down. His ears perked up and his eyes widened then went back to normal.
"I don't care how many times I eat those things, they're still weird."
"I like them, they make me feel invigorated!"
Frost said as he took one from his own hand and ate it. His hair stood up for a moment and then fell back down.
"Besides we're gonna need the energy today."
Fern nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, which means you better get your equipment ready to go."
Frost got up and walked over to the tent, but he went to the opposite side to the one that fern was rummaging through earlier.
"Hah, I'd like you to just try and find your stuff now. It took me at least ten minutes to just find my knee pads."
Fern said with arms crossed and a confident look on his face. He laughed with pride and it seemed just as he started to laugh, Frost peeked his head out of the tent.
"Found em."
Fern's mouth hung open mid laugh and he sat and stared out into nothing for a moment.
"You're kidding right?"
"Nope."
Frost seemed to skip his way back to Fern and Brite with an armful of light brown armor. He brought it over and plopped back down next to Brite. He buckled on the armor over his chest, elbows, and knees. Fern looked down to the ground in a defeated shame. Frost leaned over and tapped his shoulder.
"Don't be sad, next time just organize your things better."
"I have been dishonored."
Fern said half jokingly. Frost stood up and began to walk towards the trees.
"I wonder who'll help me with today's delivery then?"
Fern seemed to snap back to life and he jumped to his feet immediately.
"Like hell I'm gonna let you do it without me!"
Brite was surprised by the sudden burst of energy that was being emitted by Fern. He too then rose to his feet and jumped up with excitement. Fern and Brite followed up behind frost to where the clearing ended and the trees started. It was then that Fern noticed that Brite was following. Fern took concern to this because he knew what was about to happen.
A smile creeped from ear to ear on Fern's face.
"Ok ok big man wants to run with us."
"Fern I don't think it's a good idea to-"
"C'mon its been a while since I've had a newbie to crush."
Frost and Fern began stretching their legs, backs, and arms. Brite saw this and decided to follow in their habits. He did all the stretching exercises that they did and moved out his arms and legs.
Fern looked at Brite with an almost devilish look in his eyes.
"Alright here are the rules: All you gotta do is keep up with us til we reach the delivery point. Simple right."
Brite didn't really know the rules, but he was going to follow them unknowingly anyways.
Fern leaned down in a position that put both his hands and feet on the ground. Brite readied himself to get moving. Frost got down on all fours as well but he looked over at Brite with concern.
"Brite start running now!"
Ferns pupils thinned to fine slits and he started to laugh in excitement.
"Let's go! Blazing Trail!"
Fern took off like a bullet from a flintlock. The ground smoldered wherever he touched it. Frost started running as well and Brite started to move his legs. He had done something like this before, but unlike the deer Fern was smaller and able to weave in between trees. Brite quickened his pace and watched how his legs moved.
He moved one leg then used force to quickly put it back on the ground then kick up the other leg. Fern's hands and legs were moving like a blur. Brite then then turned his attention to what was in front of him.
A large boulder five times the size of Brite stood in front of them. It was accompanied on both sides by large brown barked trees. Fern ran towards the tree on the left side and bounded up. He clawed into the tree then jumped in the direction of the other tree. He caught on to the tree and repeated this skillful move three more times until he was at the top of the boulder.
"Gotta keep your flame on max if you wanna keep up with me!" He called out behind him.
Brite had to come up with something fast if he wanted to catch up to Fern. He realized that Fern had gotten up the trees using his claws to hold on so that was out of the question. He thought about going around the boulder, but by the time he got around it Fern would already be way ahead.
He scrambled to find an answer then it hit him. He turned up the strength in his feet and legs and jumped high up into the air, but he was still only halfway up. He forced his legs into a quick and powerful movement. He flipped in the air and gave himself the extra boost he needed.
He landed on the boulder with his fingers outstretched. Fern was not too far off from him now. Brite realized he would have to pull off another epic feat to match Fern's original acceleration. He saw a lineup of tree branches that weren't too high up for Brite to not reach. Leaping from the top of the boulder he grabbed one of the sturdier branches, and he used his momentum to swing himself up on top of it. The branch bounced and bobbed with his movement and he used this to jump onto another nearby branch.
He kept up with Fern using this strategy of manipulating the treetop branches. They moved with speed and agility, but it seemed that Fern thought that Brite was still far behind. Frost ran up and continued keeping pace with Fern. He could see Brite moving in the trees and he looked at him with astonishment. The trees began to thin in number as they reached their destination.
Fern lowered his high speed sprint down. He kept his speed in a steady decline til they were out of the trees and on a dirt road.
Fern stood up on his feet and snapped his claws together in excitement. Sparks flew off as he celebrated.
"Whooooo yeah! And there's no Brite in sight! Smoked em!"
Fern came up from behind and tapped him on the shoulder. Once he got Fern's attention he pointed to the trees above.
"Actually..."
Brite burst out from the treetops and flipped in the air twice with the skill of a bird soaring through the sky. His golden eyes shimmered with a glint in the sun. He landed with his knees bent and his arms outstretched. He stood back up straight and bent an arm to his back to scratch around his head. He held up a V with his fingers and smiled cheerfully.
Fern's jaw dropped and he stood with arms limp for a moment. He then shook his head around and looked at Brite with a smile of his own.
"Well ok ok."
