She closes the door of her house after a long night outside, where everyone's eyes prey, the whispers, the judgments she endures every time she steps out of her safe zone. Her home.
But even home, wasn't safe anymore.
"Where were you?! I've been calling all night!"
"I'm here now mom. I'm going to sleep." She moves to her room, but her mother stops her tracks, and takes ahold of her hands, she looks up at her daughter, eyes wide, then looks down to her hands, all bloody.
"What happened to your hands?"
She stays silent, tears threatening to spill.
"I said what happened to your hands!" Her mother raises her voice a bit louder and clutches her hands a bit tighter making her wince, and take step back.
"I fell!" She raises her voice back.
Her mother stays silently shocked.
But the tears start to roll, they fell too.
"I fell, and it hurts so bad mom!" She gasps looking at her own hands, she looked at them with disgust, a painful look on her face.
Her mom slowly starts to step closer to her daughter.
"Make it stop mom, make it stop! It hurts." She cries even more.
The mother finally engulfs her daughter into her arms, her own tears were starting to fall; because right then and there..she realized that it wasn't her daughter's hands that hurt. It was her heart, her soul.
"Please make it stop, it hurts so bad.." she cries into her mom's chest, and her mothers just hugs her tighter.
"you will be okay." She whispers to her daughter.
