I smile at them with every muscle I had, although the tears in my eyes told another story.

"I already told you I was leaving. Don't be surprised." They argue and I nod with mockery.

"Yes! Yes! You did-" I sigh,

"-in fact you made sure to tell me that almost every single day the past few months." I step closer to them and whisper: "do you know what that does to a human being?"

I step back with wide eyes, trying to control the tears from falling.

"Hearing the only person that you thought was gonna stay-" I whisper.

"-No matter what!" I begin to raise my voice, "say that they were leaving you..

..like you are nothing." I whisper the last part.

They step closer to me, "You know what I've been through!"

I chuckle with no humor at all.

what I've been through.

"You think when you're gone it's all going to end, don't you?" I smile so widely. I sniff back the tears, "You think you're the only one that lost a lot of things."

We were only inches away from each other.

I begin to whisper, " l promise with all i have left in me, the minute you step out of here I will start living the way I want to."

My chest begins to tighten and I let out a little gasp for air.

"The minute you step out of here I will stop caring about everything and everyone. I promise I will make sure everyone gets what they deserve." A tear escapes, but I keep on smiling.

"I promise."
