Your Pov:
We eventually found Siobhan after bumping into Abed in the dining room. She was in the bar/lounge. Trilby spoke to her, "Do you know anything about the history of your family?" She nodded, "I'm researching my family tree as part of my diploma." The conversation continued for a few more minutes, before Siobhan invited us up to her room. Then, she got up and left.
I sat down on one of the plush seats and took a deep breath. Trilby looked at me, "Are you alright?" I nodded, "You go on ahead to her room. I just need to take a breather." He squeezed my hand before leaving the room. I closed my eyes, trying to calm my rapidly beating heart. It was silent. Then, a noise began to emerge. I froze when the noise reached my ears.
The whispering was back.
I opened my eyes. I had shifted back into the dark hotel. And I didn't have the pills. I quietly moved to the door and tried to open it. To my shock, it was locked. I jiggled the knob, but froze when I heard footsteps coming up the hallway. I backed away from the door and into a corner. I sank to the floor. The door slowly creaked open and the tall man stepped in. I started to shake. I was going to die.
His blank, pale face looked in my direction. He moved towards me. I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for my death to come. But, nothing happened. I opened my eyes to find him right in front of me. He held out a red gloved hand to me. I hesitated before grabbing it. Even through the glove, he was ice cold. He led me through the lobby and to the stairs. We walked up the stairs and to one of the rooms. The faded, old plate read '2C'. The door opened to reveal an empty room. Blood stained the floor.
The hardwood was stained dark red in various places. There was no furniture. There was a symbol engraved on each of the walls. The grip on my hand disappeared. I turned to see the tall man gone. In his place, was a single scrap of paper. I picked it up and read it to myself.
The Book of Chzo - Chapter [\\\\]
15. On the day that was his, the king and the prince sang praise as the daughter of technology and magick was born.
16. The king looked down upon the daughter and said 'O daughter, truly of my flesh, you shall go among your people and spread my teachings. With the prince as your guide, he will strike the ignorant down with fitting vengeance.
17. And so it was true. The king turned to the prince and said 'O Prince who was once the arrogant man, you will pass your teachings onto the daughter and she shall learn of the three blessed agonies.'
18. 'You are her protector and she is your queen. If harm befalls her, you shall be stripped of your vestiments and once again become the arrogant man.'
19. The prince bowed and said 'Yes my king. The daughter of technology and magick will never be harmed under my watchful eye.'
20. The daughter was struck down, but bore one daughter in her stead. The king ordered the prince to continue protecting the blood of the daughter of technology and magick until the time was right.
21. When fruition comes, the daughter of technology and magick will sing praise in his name and show the guide and the bridge keeper their final destinies and they will know the name of the king.
I flipped the page over to reveal a note written on the back.
**The daughter of technology and magick refers to the founder, Jack Frehorn's sister, Rhea Frehorn. She lived until her 28th year, when she was fatally stabbed by Frehorn's Blade. In her 27th year, she bore one child named Eve. Eve disappeared soon after Rhea's passing. It is assumed that Eve was abandoned at an orphanage by Frehorn himself. Below are photos of Rhea and Eve.**
I looked at the pictures and almost dropped the paper. Rhea and Eve Frehorn looked nearly identical to me. I looked up from the paper, the hotel reverted back to normal. I folded up the paper and put it in my dress pocket. I left the room, seeing no one in the hall. I knocked on Siobhan's door. She opened the door and let me in. Trilby stood by the bed.
After Siobhan closed the door, the conversation resumed. The atmosphere slowly began to tense as Siobahn spoke of Trilby and I's secret names with such fascination. I could tell Trilby felt it too. Siobahn then started talking about that house. She paused and looked at the both of us, a bright gleam in her eyes, "You're them! Trilby and (Y/n)!" I stayed silent as Trilby spoke to her.
The atmosphere was overbearing now. Suddenly, there was a flash, and the hotel shifted. The tall man was in front of Trilby now. Trilby backed up, tripping over a hole in the floor. The tall man passed me and kneeled in front of Trilby. I put a hand to my mouth as Trilby kicked the tall man. The hotel reverted to normal and he ended up kicking Siobahn.
She was out cold from that.
We turned to her bag, looking for anything related to her family history. I could tell Trilby was confused as to why the tall man avoided me, but he didn't say anything. Trilby eventually found a folder labeled 'O'Malley Family History'.
He opened the folder and began to read it out loud for the both of us.
