Merry belated Christmas everyone!! Hope you all enjoyed yourselves with friends and family. Here's a extra chapter because I feel like it! (also cause I'm bored).
The day of the tournament was finally here, and Castiana was actually looking forward to it. To see whether or not her training before coming here and after was useful or not. They had given her some armor, and she was making her way outside.
"You ready for this?" she blinked and turned to Percy, also clad in his blue armor. Though he had an excited smile on his face, his eyes showed anxiety. She smiled at him lightly and patted him on the back in comfort. He let out a breath and nodded at her in thanks.
"Couldn't even sleep last night" he admitted, and she rose an eyebrow.
"Why?" he looked at her in disbelief.
"We're going against half the camp" he looked at her up and down "Okay, you may not have alot to worry about, but I do. Everyone in camp knows that you're good in combat, but they've always seen me laid out on my ass" she laughed at that. "It's not funny!" he said, even though he was laughing a bit too. "They'll be after me, but stay away from you." she rolled her eyes.
"That's why we're a team right?" she walked in the direction everyone was going, Percy following her. "We have each other's backs. Plus, you're just learning how to fight like a demigod. You're learning in a couple of weeks what people have learned in years." she nudged him in praise. "You should feel proud of that." He smiled shyly. "And who knows", she shrugged. " maybe you're one of those types who do really well when they're actually facing the danger." Percy smiled in appreciation.
"Thanks Ti"
"No problem Percy", she gave a small smile " that's what friends are for afterall" Percy's smile grew then teasingly.
"Nuh uh, what was my nickname again? Cielo? I'm still going to find out what that means by the way" Castiana groaned.
"Just drop it Percy!"
"Tut tut, Ti, it's Cielo" she tried to glare, but just laughed.
"Gods, you're infuriating" he laughed along with her. They began to walk in silence, and now that he wasn't really talking anymore, Castiana's words ran through his head.
"Plus, you're just learning to fight like a demigod" his eyes furrowed. She said "you" not "we". It could be just because he was the only one doing so bad, but a feeling in his gut told him it wasn't so. When they were being taught the different creatures in their new world or anything they were being taught really, she didn't seem surprised or confused. Then, his mind wandered to the fact that she can't be detected as a demigod. He just had a feeling that it all connected.
"Hey Ti" he called nervously.
"Hmm?" she looked up at him.
"Uh", he rubbed at the back of his neck. He just knew this would cause her to close up. "Can I ask you a question?" she hesitantly nodded.
"Depends"
"So, um, did you train with someone before all this?" he gestured all around them. She predictably tensed, but stiffly nodded.
