Percy's eyes snapped open, but immediately closed when the bright light touched his sensitive eyes. Her groaned in pain. This time, he was more careful and let his eyes adjust, and when he opened them fully, he found himself in a cabin. His eyebrows furrowed.

A cabin?

What was he doing in a cabin?

A memory of his mother being held by a beast with a ring in its nose entered his head, but he shook the thought away and laughed it off.

'There's no way that happened.' he shook his head. 'There's no way those things are real....and there's no way my mom is dead. Not my last living relative.'

A snore echoed in the cabin and Percy shot up in sitting position, trying to find the source. Grover was snoring comfortably in a bed a bit away from him, and he could see him wearing a strange brown outfit.

"Grover" his voice sounded hoarse and faint from misuse. He cleared his throat. "Grover!" Grover only rolled over to his next side, facing away from. Percy sucked his teeth in annoyance. He looked around and found his shoes. Taking one of them, he pelted the shoe at Grover's head, effective waking him up.

"Ow! What the-" he looked to the side to see Percy awake. He grinned, and sat up. "Hey man, how ya feeling?" Percy laughed.

"You won't believe it. I had the most craziest dream where there were Minotaurs-" the grin on Grover's face gradually turned sad. "and you...were...a...." Grover made his way over to him, showing off his goat like legs.

"Satyr," Grover finished off for him "Those things you experienced, they weren't a crazy dream Percy. They were reality." Percy stared, shocked at his friend's legs, then shook his head in denial.

"N-No, that means, m-my mom, she's..." he didn't have the heart to finish the sentence. Grover nodded, and looked own to the ground in shame.

"I'm sorry Percy, this is all my fault" Percy's head snapped up.

"Wait! Wha-"

"If I had been a better protector, then none of this would of ever happened. I'm sorry, it's because of me that you lost your mother." Percy tried to reach out to Grover, but he only took a step back out of reach. "And if it weren't for Cas-" Grover's head snapped up in realization.

How could he forget?!

He ran out the cabin and ran to the head office. He burst through the doors, out of breath.

"Mr. D!" he shouted.

"What!" the stout man, who was holding a can of cola, scowled a the satyr that burst into his room without knocking. Grover cowered under his gaze and took a step back. He laughed nervously.

"U-Uh Mr. D sir, Percy and I actually came with another person, her name is Castiana." Mr. D rose an eyebrow.

"Then where is she?" He asked. Grover began to sweat and scratch the back of his head. The man may be short and portly, but it didn't do anything to his intimidating appearance.

"I-I don't know. Most likely still where we last saw her, in the woods." The man's eyes narrowed, and he slammed his drink onto his desk, making Grover jump in fright.

"You call yourself a protector?!" He spat "Not only did you almost kill the demi god you were supposed to be protecting, but you brought another person into it as well!"
