Eight

Winter's pov

1 week later.
I woke up really early. It has only been two days since Summer and I moved into this house. Our room is the one with a window bench and a balcony besides it. I slid the doors open and went out onto the balcony. The cold air hit my skin but I embraced it. I heard climbing sounds and froze. It was only when a pair of hazel gold eyes looked directly into mine that I realised that it was only Helix.
He stood next to me and held onto the railing. His dark brown hair was swishing in the wind. The thought about how girls at school would have swooned over that made me laugh a little. What was so attractive about Helix? I don't know.
"What are you laughing at? I know. I'm so handsome I make you giggle.", Helix said with a proud smile then started laughing.
I stopped laughing eventually and we descended into a comfortable silence again. Helix turned abruptly and looked at me with a smile.
"Come somewhere with me. I promise you wont regret it.", Helix said with a hopeful smile.
Id hate to wipe that smile off his face but what if Summer woke up and saw I was gone? She would freak. I shook my head but Helix kept talking and imploring so eventually, I gave in. He smiled really big, picked me up bridal style and hopped away. He could fly though. He told me to close my eyes but I needed no telling. I was used to my wings(that were starting to look less like stubbs) and not jumping or hopping.
I felt him land and he whispered to me to tell me to open my eyes. I, reluctantly opened them and found that he was sitting with me in his arms somewhere high. I am not a big fan of heights without my wings. I clung onto Helix tighter as I saw how high we were. He rubbed circles on my side with his thumb and told me he was holding me and that I should look up. I looked up and saw the most beautiful star patterns I had ever seen in my life. The stars where we lived were not the same as on Earth. They were closer so the higher you go, the prettier they look but some points are just lucky spots.
I looked away from the stars and looked at Helix to find he was looking at me. We both smiled. I got out of his grasp and sat next to him. He put his arm around me when I shivered and I somewhat found that cheesy. I looked up at him to find he was as close as the night we looked at my sketch. He closed his eyes and I mimicked his action. My eyes were closed but I could tell he was leaning in and so was I. Why? I don't know. Before the gap could close, I heard the flapping of two wings. I moved back and saw Summer and Axel. Axel's white wings were still in a landing position while Summer had already folded her black wings.
"Thought I might find you here.", Axel said while smiling.
"If you two need more time Axel and I would be glad to go.", Summer offered kindly.
"Actually, I was just taking Snowflake home.", Helix stated.
I got up and Helix picked me up again. Summer and Axel just took off. Gosh, I miss my wings. Summer landed first. Axel was still in mid air because he was not staying for that long anyway. Helix put me down gently and said goodnight then flew off. I went inside, still spying on the two though. Ever since Summer kissed him, Axel had been very quiet about it. He said goodnight and was about to fly off when Summer grabbed his shirt and pulled him back.
