The Breeze

This poem is about loving yourself and letting positivity into your life. When you feel down about yourself, you can refer to this poem and remember that there's always a reason to love yourself. You're not perfect; nobody is. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be loved.

I opened my windows to let the breeze in

I wanted to hear the birds chirp and the leaves rustle

And while I sat there, silently staring out my window

My room was cleared of all the negativity

All the staring in the mirror and thinking I'm not good enough

All the tears I had spilled over not fitting in

All the loneliness that had seeped into my soul

The breeze swept it up and threw it away

I guess the breeze knew something I didn't

Like a secret that had never been shared

The secret was that negativity is never needed

That day, the breeze leaned in real close

And whispered in my ear

"There is always a reason to love yourself"

I thought about that for a while

And as the days went on

I decided the breeze was right

Because even if you don't see a reason to love yourself

Doesn't mean it's not there
