Main Character

This poem is about being invisible. It can be hard to go through life and just feel like you're unimportant. I want you guys to know that you're special, even if you don't believe it yourself. You are always the main character in your story. <3

People pass by me without saying a word

Without a glance in my direction

I keep my head down

And my expectations low

I know that I'm not the main character

Not even in my own story

Others push past me to steal the spotlight

And it's like I was born to let them

The walls of my room are blank

There's no trace of my existence

Except for the tears that stain the wood on my floor

The color of my clothes remain neutral

To blend in like I was meant to do

Even in my brightest moments

I am dim compared to others

Like a lightbulb that needs to be changed

But sometimes I have hope for the future

To shine

Be bold

Be noticed

To believe I can be the main character

And then be it
