WILL POV—
"Hey, Will when you're done sweeping, clean the tables for me, then you can go." Mary said, walking to the back.
"Ight, I got you." I replied, sweeping the trash off the floor.
It's been three weeks, since I've spent time with Leah. Three weeks, since I've chilled with the bro's. Of course, we'd sometimes hang at school, but that wasn't very much time together. I've been working like crazy at Jenny's, but it's cool though. Soon, I'd have enough saved up for a car.
Working here wasn't so bad. The pay was good, so I couldn't complain. Mary was a down to earth manager. She wasn't like most managers, who took things to the extreme. She was cool to work with.
My mom went back to work a few days ago, since I've been feeling better. No, she doesn't work crazy hours like she used to and I'm happy about that. Our lil deal we made was working so far.
School's been alright. My grades were good. I just do what I have to and call it a day. Since there's no basketball, it's just school, then work. Man, I miss being on the court. I can't wait until next year.
Leah and I's relationship is great. That girl makes me happy. We talk to each other everyday and night. When I'm on break, she'd text me to check on me. She'd call sometimes, but it'd be a short convo because she'd be in practice. I appreciate her effort regardless. As long as I talk to my baby I'm good.
Once I finished sweeping the floor, I went ahead and wiped the tables off. Afterwards, I clocked out and headed out the door. Man, I'm tired. I just wanted to shower, talk to my baby, then go to sleep.
As soon as I got to my car, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"I thought I might find you here. You look cute in your lil uniform." The voice said.
I turned to see Kani.
"How did you know I work here?"
"The streets talk." She said, coming closer to me.
I sighed. "What do you want Kani?" I asked, annoyed.
"I came to see you. I miss you." She said, caressing my face.
I quickly moved her hand.
"Don't touch me."
Kani sighed. "Will, what do I have to do for us to work again?"
I looked at her crazy.
"Kani, there will never be an us ever again. I've moved on and I think you should do the same." I told her.
"I've made one mistake, Will. I'm sorry."
"All it takes is one mistake."
She put her head down and nodded.
"Can we at least be friends?" She asked.
I shook my head. "Nah, we can't."
She just stood there quiet.
"Have a nice night, Kani." I replied, getting into my car, driving off.

I just got out of the shower and a nigga felt good as fuck. I was nice and clean after a long night of work. Bedtime now. I was on FaceTime with Leah as I dried off.
"Mmm, you look sexy." Leah said, biting her lip.
"Chill with that." I stated, going into my room.
"With what?" She asked, giggling.
"Biting yo lip and shit. Shits sexy."
She laughed.
"Hold up." I said, sitting my phone down as I dressed for bed.
I put on boxers and sweatpants, then got into my bed. I picked my phone back up and looked at my baby.
"Good now?"
"Yeah." I replied.
"Comfy?" She asked.
"Yep."
"How was practice?"
"It was good. I almost cussed Kani out." She said.
"Why?"
"She kept looking at me like she had a problem. The bitch almost got fucked up." She said, rolling her eyes.
"You're not getting into anymore fights."
"Says who?"
"Me, I don't give a fuck what somebody else do.
Your ass ain't fighting." I said in a serious tone."Mmm, yes daddy." She said, seductively.
I smirked at her.
"Speaking of Kani, she popped up at my job."
"What did she want?" Leah asked, annoyed.
"Asking what can she do in order for us to get back together."
Leah rolled her eyes. "She needs to move on."
"I told her that."
"She even asked if we could be friends." I added.
"What did you say?"
"I told her no."
"Good."
I couldn't help, but stare at my girlfriend. Damn, it felt good to say that.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"You're beautiful. I can stare at you all day." I stated, making her blush.
"I'm sorry that we haven't spent much time together. With me working and all it's hard to-" Leah cut me off.
"Baby, it's okay. I'm not mad. I know you're busy with work and I'm busy with practice. We'll find time. I'm just glad to be talking to you."
I smiled. This is one of the things I loved about Leah. She's so patient and understanding.
"I love you girl." I replied, smiling.
"I love you too." She said, blushing.
Hearing her say that, did something to me. It warmed my heart. I could never get tired of her saying that. We stayed on the phone all night talking about any and everything, until we fell asleep.
