Chapter XIV - Oscar

Jason is staring off into the distance

Alexis: Jason? Jason:.... I don't know how this could've happened...

Jake walks in

Jake: Jason, did you use the pit to bring Oscar back? Jason: No, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Jake: Then how the hell is he walking? Jason: I don't know....

Elsewhere Oscar  is fighting criminals and kills almost all of them except for one that falls down and tries getting away

Criminal: Please man, don't do this! No!

Oscar decapitates him

Dark Force HQ

Dispatcher: All units we have local law enforcement on a murder scene, requesting Dark Force support. Bradley: Copy that dispatch sending someone in now.

Ricky responds to the scene

Ricky: This is crap, why do I have to respond to the scene, its my night off!

Ricky arrives and see's the body

Ricky: Oh shit! Detective: Cuts and marks show he was in a struggle, decapitated. Ricky: What do you need me here for? Detective: Cartel markings on him, that's your turf right? Ricky: Yeah. Detective: Witnesses also report seeing the vigilante here. Ricky: Oh yeah, which one? Detective: They couldn't get a clear look, but it should be simple... which one of them kills. Ricky: Both.

Jason arrives as he was contacted by Bradley

Jason checks the body

Jason: Ugh, Oscar what have you done.

Jason leaves and continues his search for Oscar

Jake on the other hand is continuing his mission by tracking down people who have backed the cartels

Jake: Simon Morrison, crazy, deranged, it's no shock a man like him would fund Javier's cartel. He's on The League's watch list for murder, he finds himself untouchable. He hasn't met me..

Jake arrives at Simon Morrison's hideout
Jake moves his way in and finds some cartel forces but takes them out rather quickly with brute force
Jake continues to move forward

In Deacon, Ricky is continuing to investigate the body when The Raven appears

Ricky: You, you're the vigilante! The Raven: I know who did this. Ricky: Oh yeah? How do you know. The Raven: Because I knew him, he's the vigilante who calls himself The Shadow. Ricky: Doesn't he work with you? The Raven: We had a falling out. Ricky: So what he's killing now? The Raven: He needs to be stopped. Ricky: You know who he is don't you. What's his name? The Raven: Oscar Grayson. Here's everything I have on him

The Raven gives Ricky files and leaves while Oscar is looking at them from a nearby location

Jake is taking down cartel members  left and right, tossing a cartel member up into a light, causing the room to flicker
Jake shoots a grappling hook at a cartel members shoulder and pulls him in and punches him down

Jake barges into Simon Morrison's room

Jake: Simon Morrison, your time has come! Simon: Really... because from the way I see it, I see nothing but someone who thinks they're a big deal. Jake: Only one of us is walking out of this room... and it's not going to be you. Simon: We shall see.

Jake and Simon start fighting
Jake blocks every hit Simon throws and kicks him down
Simon pulls at a knife and starts swinging at Jake
Jake is too quick and evades them all and grabs the knife and turns it on Simon
Jake takes the knife out and Simon falls and dies

Later Ricky is going over the files with Alexis

Ricky: It just doesn't make sense, Oscar is supposed to be dead. Alexis: The worlds changed, vigilantes, meta humans, giant machines,. Ricky: Don't remind me. Alexis: So what now? Do we notify the parents? Ricky: No, they shouldn't find out what their son has turned into. Alexis: But if things get worse, we might not have a choice.

Jason rapidly responds to a crime in progress in hopes of finding Oscar

Jason arrives but doesn't see Oscar

After some time arrives Oscar arrives

Oscar kills everyone their before Jason could get there

Jason is able to intercept Oscar

Jason: Oscar!

Oscar looks back at Jason but keeps walking

Jason goes up and tries grabbing Oscar

Oscar tosses Jason

Oscar: I thought I told you to stay out of my way! Jason: You're a killer Oscar! Why! Oscar: Oh you're one to talk about not killing! I've been dead once already, life isn't so special the next time around!

Jason tries getting up to get Oscar but Oscar turns around and shoots him twice

Oscar leaves

Jason contacts Jake

Jason: Jake!

Jake arrives some time later

Jake: Jason! Oh Shit!

Jake takes Jason back to the hideout

The Next Day

Jason wakes up with his stomach sore

Jake: What happened out there? Jason: Oscar shot me! Jake: Shit! Jason stop wasting time trying to bring him back! He's not the same Oscar you knew, he's gone.... now you tried, but there's no bringing him back! Jason: Then what do we do? Jake: We either bring him to justice, or we kill him.....
