Ship/Genre: DTLAMPR/ fluff and angst

Warnings: intrusive thoughts, polyamory, crying, skipping meals, and incest(Moxiety, royality, and Remrom I guess)

A/N: Based on Jessica708777 's idea in their book for sander side one shot writers. Go check it out! I was originally not going to add Remus because of incest , but it felt wrong to leave him out but keep in Virgil and Patton. So I just limited Roman and Remus's interactions.

"I'm just not hungry." Virgil replied through his bedroom door.

"Alright." Patton said with a sigh. "Love you."

"Love you too." Virgil replied. Patton turned the hall corner to find Janus and Roman stand by the hall, hoping to see Virgil trailing behind him.

"He's not coming to dinner." Patton replied. Janus and Roman's faces sunk. Roman slipped his arm around Patton's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.

"This is the third time this week!" Janus lamented as they walked down the hall to the main area.

"And he's become way more reserved than usual." Thomas noted when they came into the main area. Thomas and Remus were already at the table, their hands overlapping.

"I miss emo." Remus said, putting his head on the table. Janus and Patton sat down across from them.

"Roman!" Logan called from the kitchen. "Can you help me bring over dinner?"

"Coming!" Roman called. Remus snickered and Roman playfully hit him on the head before going into the kitchen.

"He's not coming is he?" Logan said when Roman came in. Roman shook his head. Logan sighed and put Virgil's uneaten plate next to his other uneaten meals in the refrigerator and labeled it.

Roman kissed Logan's cheek. "We'll try again tomorrow, alright?" Logan nodded and they carried everyone's dinner out of the kitchen.

The next day, Logan and Janus came out of Logan's room looking like a mess. They entered the main area to find Roman laying in Thomas's lap on the couch and Remus and Patton trying to make coffee in the kitchen. Remus saw them enter and smirk.

"Somebody was busy last night." Remus called out, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Not like that idiot." Janus said, getting a cup for his coffee. Logan held up a notebook, opened to a page with a bunch of messy scrawles.

"We were trying to figure out why Virgil's avoiding us." Logan explained, giving Remus and Patton kisses on their cheeks.

"Oooh." Remus said. "I'm sure he's just hiding that he's a cannibal and he wants to eat us and then-"

"Remus!" Patton said, gesturing to Thomas in the other room who had gotten the rest of the intrusive thought and winced.

"Really Remus?" He said, rubbing his temple.

"Sorry Tommy Salami!" Remus responded. They all congregated in the living room to hear what Janus and Logan had come up with.

"So basically," Janis started. " We figured out that Virgil has been having his 'insecure days' so to speak- around this time of year for the past three years.

"So we've been thinking about what happens every year around this time," Logan said. "But then we realized, three years ago, he left the 'dark sides' for the 'light sides'."

"Ooh" The group said as they came to the realization.

"Makes sense," Remus added. " I haven't been getting kisses from him for the past two weeks." He said, pouting.

"Really?" Roman asked, looking up to Janus. Janus nodded. Roman got up from Thomas' lap to make room for Remus and Patton on the couch. He rubbed Remus' shoulder in sympathy.

"I guess he just doesn't feel like he doesn't fit in." Thomas concluded.

"Exactly." Logan agreed. "Janus thought we should go and talk to him."

"That sounds go-" Patton was interrupted when Virgil entered the room. He was barely awake and once he realized everyone was in the living room and looking at him, he turned around to leave.

"Wait!" Logan said, grabbing his arm to keep him from leaving. "Can you sit down for a sec?" Virgil looked at them wearily. Logan could feel his hand shaking before he pulled his arm away. Virgil took a deep breath and sat down on the arm of an unoccupied chair. Roman could feel Thomas tense up next to him. He knew Virgil must be really frightened if Thomas was affected.

Janus walked passed the couch, signaling Remus to follow him. He knew their presence was affecting Virgil too. Once they left, Patton decided to break the silence.

"So... um... How long ago did you wake up Virge?" He asked Virgil nervously twisted the strings on his hoodie, unintentionally making the hood tighten around his face.

"A couple hours ago." He lied. He hadn't slept that night, but he wasn't going to tell Patton that.

"We noticed you haven't been attending dinner for the past few days." Logan pointed out.

"Yeah, is there a reason?" Roman asked, trying to give Virgil a chance to tell them himself.

"Uhh... no. I've been eating big lunches lately." Virgil lied. Janus was practically kicking himself in the other room. He could tell Virgil was lying. He was ready to march in there before Remus stopped him.

"Virgil," Thomas started. "You know you can tell us anything, right?" Virgil knew it was game over. He had seen too many T.V shows to know that they already knew. He started to cry.

Patton immediately jumped up to give him a hug. Virgil accepted the hug, cuing the others to get up and hug him as well. Janus and Remus came running out of the other room to hug him too.

"I- just..." Virgil tried to explain after they let him go. "I just want to live up to what you guys expect me to be as a light side. I don't think I can." He admitted.

"Aw Virgil," Thomas said.

"You do so much as a light side. You're part of the glue that holds our side together. We wouldn't have it any other way. " Roman reassured.

"We wouldn't love you any less if you weren't." Patton said.

"We all love Janus and Remus, and they're still dark sides." Logan pointed out.

"I guess you're right." Virgil said, smudging his eyeshadow in an attempt to wipe away his tears. "Sorry guys." He said to Janus and Remus.

"It's fine. You're good now and that's all that matters." Janus said with a smile.

"Can I get a kiss now?" Remus whined. Virgil smirked and kissed him on the cheek.
