MERCUTIO
(to himself) Should I listen for more, or should I talk now?
ROMEO
(still not knowing MERCUTIO hears him) It's only my gayness that's my enemy. I'd still be gay even if you weren't. What's a gay anyway? It isn't a hand, a foot, an arm, a face, or any other part of a man. Oh, be some other sexuality! What does sex mean? The thing we call a rose would smell just as sweet if we called it by any other name. Mercutio would be just as perfect even if he wasn't a guy. Mercutio, lose your parents. Trade in your dad—which really has nothing to do with you—and take all of me in exchange.Trust the gay. Just call me your love, and I will love you. From now on I will never be straight again.
MERCUTIO
