Nightmare's pov

I woke up in extreme pain. I cried out, and my eyes snapped open.
Everything hurts. Even the tears pouring from my eyes hurt.
My surroundings were white, baby blue, brown, grey, beige and blurry. Why can't I see?!
Where's Dream? Where's Linda?! WHERE'S NEIL?!
I DON'T WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE ANYMORE!
PLEASE STOP, IT HURTS!!
IT HURTS!!!!

Something warm was suddenly spread around my body, and I could hear faint voices. I felt like I was under water.

I felt my body get gently moved into a sitting position, and the voices became clearer. Something was gently rocking me, and whispered to me. My body still hurts... I saw two figures in front of me. A few more tears dripped down my face, and my vision cleared a little more.

I was cradled in Linda's arms, and there was a blanket around my body. I slowly tilted my head up, and saw Linda's face. She had a gentle smile on her face, but I could still tell she was immensely concerned.

A few tears slipped down my face, and I let out a quiet cry. My body hurts so bad.

She hushed my cry, and a doctor came over with a glass of water and a small oval- shaped thing in her hand.

I tried to speak, but all that came out was a hoarse croak. I wanted to know where Dream is. Where's Neil? I want to see them. I want my brother. I want my brother. I want my brother-

"Here, put this in your mouth, drink the water then swallow."

I opened my mouth; the doctor put the funny looking candy in my mouth, then tipped the glass for me to drink out of. I swallowed the weird oval, and my throat felt better after drinking the water.

"W-where's Dream?"

I managed to say.

Linda's pov

I remember falling asleep in the chair last night. Before that, I remember Dream fell asleep at the end of the bed Nightmare slept in. Neil and I stayed awake for a little while, and watched over the two small skeletons. The young doctor was kind enough to wash the marrow- soaked blanket we brought Nightmare in. Then, Nightmare began to whimper and squirm around in his sleep, and accidentally kicked Dream, causing Dream to bump his head on the pole at the end of the bed. I comforted Nightmare, while Neil made sure Dream was okay. Then, in the early morning, Neil and I both woke up to sobbing.
Dream was looking at Nightmare and crying. Those poor things... they don't deserve any of the pain they're going through. They're both such sweet boys. Poor Dream just kept crying, and saying it was all his fault.

Neil picked Dream up, and took him back to his place. I stayed here to look after Nightmare, and fell asleep every so often, but made sure I woke up occasionally to check on Nightmare.

Soon, the morning came. I woke up, and saw that Nightmare was still fast asleep. So, I went to see where the doctor was. She was at her desk, sipping on some coffee.

She took notice of me and smiled.

"Hey, how are you doing?"

She asked me politely.

I smiled back.

"I'm... quite worried, but good nonetheless. How are you?"

I asked.

"I'm tired, but doing well, thank you."

I then remembered I never got her name.

"Hey, I never got your name!"

I chirped.

"My name is Ashley! How about you?"

She said with a curious smile.
