He had yanked me into the ship. The ship was lined on either walls with long benches. He shoved me onto the left bench next to a tall girl clothes in nothing but rags. He sat on the right side directly across from me and gave me a death glare. I played with my bracelet from Gladious. It was severely rusted and would soon fall apart but it was the only thing I had left of him. He had been my best friend for countless years then he changed and we became less and less close. I looked up to see the man still staring at me.
"What's your name?" I asked him.
"Why do you need to know?" He shot back.
"I don't know. I was just wondering." I said. Those were the exact words Gladious said to me when I asked him why he needed to know my name. My eyes began to become wet with tears as I remembered all the memories we had together.
"Why are you crying?" He asked me.
"Why would you care?" I asked him wiping away a stray tear.
"Because I hate it when people cry."
"My best friend died yesterday. He's probably still in my house rotting away."
"Good." He sneered at me. "I hope you suffer a lot more than that."
"You're not the same as you were all those years ago. They brainwashed you Alex." I stated.
"No! No they told me the truth about you. About all those people you've killed."
"I have NEVER killed ANYONE." I said.
"Sure, Korey."
"You told me to run you said that I was important." I said to him. "And I believed you. I survived for you, so that I could fulfill the destiny that you had mapped out for me. I was ready to die but I survived for you. We all have a story Alex. Sometimes I wish you had never saved me so that I could just die. I could be mad at you but I'm not. Get over yourself." I spat at him.
"Korey..." He began actually looking like he cared. He quickly shook himself out of it. "I regret saving you as well."
"Looks like we have something in common then." I said crossing my arms and leaning back on the seat.
