Cold wisps surrounded my body as I trudged through mounds of useless debris. I lifted my head to look ahead at the ashes of a small town. Jagged bones scattered the rusty metal bars and charred wood that lay on the ground. Dust clouds billowed up in groups and hurtled across the mess. I put my head back down to its original position of looking at my old scarred boots. My feet started moving again until I was past the lost society. I found myself wandering more and more toward the large black circle in the middle of Luthnar. Echoes of whispers floated through the air as I approached closer and closer to the large engulfing circle. I shivered as I felt a crawling sensation run up my spine. My legs finally folded at the edge of the circle, my body fell to the ground carefully avoiding crossing the border of the black ring. My mind wandered to the thought I had been avoiding. But I could no longer deny its passage into my thoughts. In three days I would enter this circle that I sat in front of. Too frightened by the thought of the mushy soil and the frosty air, that came with the memories of the circle, I pushed the thought away. Standing up I brushed off the remnants of dirt and moss from sitting. I had been in that circle once before. Memories shook my body as I slipped into a flashback.

A big yellow ball rolled away from me as my short chubby 5 year old arms reached out for it. It rolled farther and farther away as I ran faster reaching out. My legs starting getting tangled together making me stumble until I flew through the air and landed with a thud. I felt mushy soil beneath my face, the air had a frosty chill even though it was in the middle of summer. My arms pushed my body up as I brushed the soil off of my clothes. I was suddenly surrounded by a deep ringing sound. Large red lights blasted fiery shadows in my small brown eyes. I felt hot tears begin to escape the custody of my eyes as I dawned on me exactly where I was.

Several beatings and scoldings followed the unfortunate event. I stood up and shook off the memories. Frigid winds threw up leaves and tree branches tossing them carelessly around like small toys. I swiveled on my heels heading away from the haunting memories that came from the Circle. Shadows lurked in dark corners of the discarded rubbish. I wrapped my thin coat tighter around my body. My feet moved faster and faster as I approached the tiny hut I called home. My thin pale fingers curled around the handle of the makeshift door that led into my dwelling. As I stepped inside the hut I was greeted by a cold raw interior. An old crate lay in the corner tipped on its side. An unwelcome feeling began to creep up my freezing body. I turned around in one sharp movement.
"Gladious." I greeted the intrusive visitor.
"Korey." He responded back with.
"Can I help you with something?" I asked my words dripping with hate. He clearly ignored the hostile tone and continued.
"Yes you can Korey." His words so precise and carefully chosen. "I want out."
I scowled at the statement.
"There is no out Gladious. We're stuck here. If you can't believe that go ask the hundreds of dead who tried fleeing." I responded my words flying out like daggers.
"I know there's a way out. I know you know there's a way out. You're parents tried and they almost succeeded if we use the same method we can-"
"No." I interrupted. "My parents are dead for a reason. They failed and they can pay for what they did wherever they are now."
"But they were so close with what we have now it just might work!" He pleaded with me.
A heavy knock interrupted out heated conversation. My eyes widened with fear. I motioned for him to get down and be quiet. As I hesitantly approached the door it exploded into a flurry of wood chips and metal shards.
