"MUM WYATT WON'T LET ME HAVE THE TV!" 16-year-old Lili screams from downstairs.
"YOU HAD IT LAST NIGHT!" I hear 13 year old Wyatt yell back. I sigh and go downstairs.
"Just compromise and find something you both want to watch."
"But I want to watch supernatural. I'm in the middle of an intense scene and I have to finish the episode! Can't I just download Netflix on my phone?" Lili asks.
"No, because if I let you do that, you'd never stop watching it," I tell her. She sighs and flops onto the couch.
"Can I watch my show upstairs?" Wyatt asks.
"No, because dad and I need time alone."
"Ugh." I hear from the both of them.
"You both need to go to bed soon anyway."
"BUT-"
"Do I need to get dad involved?" I say and they quickly shut up. I sigh and walk back upstairs to my husband.
"Do I need to go downstairs?" Blake asks.
"No, I made them watch a movie they both want to watch." I sit down by Blake and he wraps his arms around me.
"Smart."
"Having two teenagers is really not fun." I sigh. When Lili was born, we decided to wait a few years before thinking about having another baby. When Lili was three, I found out I was pregnant with a baby boy. Blake and I were over the moon about it and we were glad that Lili would have a sibling. As they grew older, Lili started to look more and more like Blake and Wyatt looks more like me. I loved having a mini blake and I running around the house and with Blake by my side every step of the way, it couldn't get better.
"Lili, Wyatt, it's time for bed. Come say goodnight to your mum and i." Blake calls from the top of the stairs an hour later. They do as they were told and give us both hugs goodnight. Lili looks at the Tv and then back at us.
"Can I watch friends with you?"
"Yeah that's a no," Blake says with a slight laugh.
"Reece, Indie, and Lizzy are coming over tomorrow to watch you while your dad and I go to London for a few nights," I say, changing the subject.
"Why are you going to London?"
"To get some time alone and away from you kiddos." Blake laughs.
"Why can't we watch ourselves? Why do our aunt and uncle have to watch us?" Wyatt complains.
"To make sure you behave and feed yourselves," Blake tells them.
"Plus, they love spending time with you two." I point out.
"When can we see Delilah and Charlie again? We haven't seen them in a while." Lili asks.
"Hopefully soon. We'll set something up." I promise. While I was pregnant, George unfortunately cheated on Delilah. None of us were expecting it and although George beat himself up about it, it ruined their relationship and they didn't see or talk to each other for 2 years. Luckily, they were able to get past that and be friends again. Delilah found the right guy and eventually got married. A week before Lili was born, Reece had proposed to Indie and got married not long after. They had a little baby girl they named Lizzy after they were married for two years. Lizzy is now 14 and I'm so happy that she's in between Lili and Wyatt's age so they both have a cousin to hang out with, although Lizzy spends more time with Lili for obvious reasons. Honestly, my life right now couldn't get any better. I have an amazing husband, two beautiful children and all my friends and family around me. I'm so glad I ran into my year two crush that one late September day 20 years ago.
