Wayo's POV

A couple of weeks with Pha was making me a little crazy. He had a habit of taking my breath away with his smiles and his presence made my heart beat faster. Even when he wasn't trying to kiss the life out of me, his thoughts centered around me. He wanted to be together all the time. He was jealous and so possessive that he was pissing off my other friends. Was it wrong that I didn't mind that much?

My relationship with Pha was making me feel excited and loved. I was waiting for Pha to move our relationship to the next level. I wanted him to call me his boyfriend, but I didn't want to rush him. I had to be patient and wait for him to mean it. Everything in his thoughts confirmed that he wanted to be with me, but he needed to acknowledge that to himself and to other people. For me, I was more than ready. Was it possible to fall in love so quickly?

In the meantime we had settled into a kind of easy routine. On the weekdays, when we both had classes, we'd text all day, just to stay connected. If a class was cancelled or we got out early, we'd try to meet. If we couldn't see each other until later, we'd come together to eat dinner and study.

Kit, Beam, Ming, and Forth usually came with us. On the weekends, we'd go out for drinks or to the movies, or just stay in and talk. Our friends often came with us. It was fun and comfortable. Through it all, we fit in as many kisses as we could. I was definitely becoming addicted.

Ming and Kit seemed to be doing well in a learning-about-each-other-through-friendship-and-casual-dating way. Kit was a little bit of a grumpy pants, but Ming didn't mind. It actually served to make him more playful than usual, and that made me smile. Ming was happy and that made me happy too.

Forth and Beam had a very strange relationship that I had yet to figure out. When we'd first met, I had assumed that they were friends, but now things were strained. Beam would treat Forth normally, but that only seemed to make Forth annoyed. So mostly they ignored each other. Now, I firmly believe in minding my own business. At least until I can get through this next rescue. Then I might be forced to do a little invasion of privacy, but only if it would help to make Forth happy.

As far as the rescue, we're almost in the clear. I'd been careful to make friends with the Fairy Angels and went out with them occasionally so we all felt comfortable together. Not that they hadn't been comfortable with me from the start. They were very accepting and I actually really liked them. Not that they weren't crazy. That group was just a big ball of insanity.

Once it got on you, some of the insanity stuck to you and acted like glitter. You could try to wipe if off, wash it off, or shake it off, but no matter how hard you tried it just moved from one location to the next, never actually going away. But also like glitter, they made everything just a little bit more exciting, so you didn't really want to get rid of them. They were a great group of people and I was glad that I knew them.

Right now, I'm eating lunch with them in our faculty canteen. It's two days until September 20th, Friday night, and as far as I can gather they don't have plans to go anywhere. But not having plans isn't enough, so in order to keep the twins away from that restaurant, I've decided to make my own plans with them. That way I'll know exactly where they are and hopefully keep them away from danger.

"Do you want to get together on Friday night?" I asked the whole group. Nate and a few other girls are sitting with us, but the more the merrier. As long as the twins come, I can call it a success.

"Yes! We need to get some drinks and go dancing!" Montri shouted out, thrilled with the idea. "I need a break from studying."

"You're telling me, I think I'm getting lines around my eyes from squinting at my notes," Chang said, opening a small mirror and checking his imaginary wrinkles.

"If you wore your glasses, you wouldn't have to squint," Nate reminded him, but he just stared at her like she was crazy before turning back to his mirror.

"So, Jae, Zee, are you two coming?" I asked. They were the reason behind the invitation, so I needed to make sure they would be there. "I'll invite Ming and Forth, too. It'll be fun."

"We wouldn't miss it," Zee said, giving me a sweet smile. Mission accomplished.

I let Joss know that we could all stand down, but he sent someone to follow the twins on the night we planned to go out, just in case.

Ming, and I drove to the bar together with Joss behind us in his own vehicle. Kit, Beam, and Pha had some kind of exam coming up and were spending the evening studying, so they weren't coming. Forth was waiting for us outside the bar when we arrived. We met Montri, Chang, Nate and a couple of other friends at the bar at around 9 PM. Cake called at the last minute, saying she had a fever, so she wouldn't be coming. That just left the twins.

"Where are Zee and Jae?" I asked, needing to make sure they were still coming.

"They said they would meet us here," Chang responded. They were notoriously late for everything, so I wasn't worried.

Ming helped me carry out the first round for our group, it was my invitation, so I'd offered to pay for the first two rounds. After nearly 45 minutes, I was starting to worry about the twins. I'd only been sipping my drink, needing to keep my mind sharp.

"Don't worry," Joss said, as soon as I asked what he knew. "The guy who was tailing them called to say they left their dorm 30 minutes late then had a flat tire. They called a taxi and are on their way."

I drew in a deep breath, relaxing again. We were all having a pretty good time, talking and drinking, but after another 30 minutes, I was worried again. The twins should have been here by now. Montri, Chang, and a couple of the girls were already drunk and didn't look like they had any intention of slowing down so I talked to Forth and Ming when Joss motioned for me to come over.

"I'm going to check on the twins," I said, worry gnawing at my stomach. "Can you guys stay here and make sure my other friends get home okay?"

"No problem," Ming answered. "Are you going to be okay?"

"Joss should have everything under control," I said, then headed over to Joss, looking at my watch.

"My guy just called," Joss said, standing up and directing me to the car, "he said he lost them when he was trying to call me. He thought they were coming here, but the driver took them somewhere else."

"They must have gone to the restaurant," I said, running to the SUV and buckling in. "How far away is it?"

"We're cutting it way too close," Joss said, sliding into the driver's seat, "but we should make it in time. The team's already on their way."

"Should isn't good enough, Joss," I said, a deep sense of dread settling in my stomach. I'd let my guard down, thinking this would be easy. "I should have taken this more seriously. If they get hurt, it will be all my fault."

"We'll make it," Joss said. "We won't fail."

I didn't know if he was comforting me or himself, but I was grateful. He was always with me, helping me, protecting me, making me feel safe. I'd saved Joss's sister years ago, but since that time, he was always saving me. I took a deep breath, calming my trembling heart. Jae and Zee needed us right now, we couldn't let them down.
