Korn's POV

I stared as I looked at the resort I had booked for our vacation. Wow. It was the perfect place, luxurious and private. Even the smallest room cost more money than I'd ever spent at one time before, but I needed this to be just right. I'd messed up so badly, I wanted to show Knock that I love him. I'd never meant for this to happen.

I came down late last night, making all the preparations for our romantic week away. My phone rang, I reached for it automatically. He was supposed to be here by now. Yihwa was taking him to the airport. Maybe he'd missed his flight? I looked down when I got a text notification, expecting his arrival information, but that wasn't the text I received.

Knock: I'm not coming. I need more time. Sorry.

I don't know how long I'd been staring blankly at my screen. I didn't even realize I'd been walking until I felt someone grab my arm. I looked down at a handsome boy, probably several years younger than me. I didn't know him, so I took a step away, assuming he'd mistaken me for someone else. All of my focus immediately turned back to my problem, Knock wasn't coming.

The boy grabbed my arm again and tugged on it hard. He was obviously afraid, "I'm sorry, but I really need to talk to you. Please."

He was trying to pull me along with him, but I didn't budge. I looked at him carefully, realizing he might be in trouble. "Is something wrong?"

"Would you come with me?" he asked, still trying to pull me. He looked over his shoulder at two guys that were standing on the sidewalk, watching us.

"Please we need to hurry," he continued when I didn't come with him. He was checking his watch, looking down the street nervously.

"Are those guys trying to hurt you?" I asked as quietly as I could while still being heard. I put my arm around his shoulder to comfort him. I didn't know him at all, but I couldn't let him get hurt if I could do something to stop it.

"What?" he asked, sounding confused. Then understanding lit his eyes and he shook his head. "No. Listen, we really need to move."

I was about to walk with him. His fear and the way he kept checking the street was making me feel nervous, but one of the men who'd been watching us came up to me. He seized my arm in a tight grip and told me to get off the street in a growl. I moved the boy behind me, keeping him away from the aggressive man.

"I think you should let me go, friend," I said, as politely as I could while grinding my teeth together. I didn't know what his problem was, but I didn't like being grabbed.

"Just get off the street, you idiot!" the jerk yelled at me, reaching for the boy behind my back. Oh, hell no! He did not just try to touch someone that I was protecting. Not going to happen. I twisted the arm that he was holding until it was free, and turned his surprise to my advantage by throwing a quick punch to his jaw. Unfortunately, he must have been a fighter, he dodged and countered. It didn't matter to me though, I'd been fighting since I was young and several years ago I'd started MMA training. We were just getting into what could have been a decent fight when a loud horn sounded from the street, shocking us both into inactivity. That truck was way too close. Why hadn't I noticed it before?

"Please! Kao!" the boy was practically screaming from behind me. The truck was getting closer, so I grabbed the boy's hand and pulled him with me over to the sidewalk, safe from oncoming traffic. I figured the fighter could take care of himself.

The truck passed us a moment later, the sound of his horn still blasting in my ears. I watched until it was gone then turned back to the boy whose hand I was still holding to see him being hugged by the guy that waited on the sidewalk. When he moved away, he turned to me and put his free arm around me too, a few tears visible on his face.
