Zoey walked down the hall seeing her best friend with his arms crossed

She smiled at the boy and got in front of him

"What's wrong?" She asked and Clay sighed "everyone thinks I shouldn't go on the camping trip because I'll break in front of everyone...do you think I'm breakable?" Clay asked "I mean no...you've been snappy-" Zoey got cut off by the boy "see, after the dance everyone just thinks that I'm suddenly breakable or snappy" Clay said "Clay, what happened at the dance?" Zoey asked "nothing" he said "so that's why you were covered in fake blood and had a knife?" She asked and Clay stopped and looked at her "Zoey, I can't tell you" he said "but Ani gets to know? Oh great she totally knew you for about what? Like nine years" Zoey said sarcastically "look, she can help-" Zoey cut him off "so she helped by walking out? God Clay you knew her for one year and you knew me for nine...and yet she still knows you better than anyone, now...that's fucking..great-it's fantastic" Zoey said and scoffed as she walked away from the boy

She felt like all she ever did was get mad at him, she didn't mean to, but she was just mad about how Ani knew Clay better than she knew Clay

She was upset that Clay didn't come to her when he needed help, it was always Ani

"I believe clay, I mean it's easy to just hack an account and schedule an email to go out whenever" Tyler said "I don't know that all sounds like really complicated computer shit" Tony said as the threw the chunks of wood in the rocks that stacked together, for a camp fire

"It does" Zoey agreed "Yeah" Tyler said "I mean, who would know how to do that? Would you?" Tony asked Tyler "are you...wait, do you think it was me?" Tyler asked the boy in disbelief and he threw the wood down "how could you even think that?" Tyler asked "why'd you leave with Standall the night of the dance?" Tony asked

"What?" Tyler said trying to play it off and Zoey just stood there not knowing what to do now that the tension was here "I didn't-" Tony cut Tyler off "come on, Tyler, I saw you" Tony said and Tyler glared at the boy as he continued to put the chunks of wood into the pit circle of rocks and he sighed

"Being at the dance...just triggered some bad memories for me, and I wanted to talk to you or Zoe, Clay, or Alex about it, but you guys were all busy. I didn't want you to start worrying again. So I mean. Standall knows the story, so I just called him and he drove me home" Tyler explained "you were with us all night, you seemed fine" Tony said referring to him and Zoey "how would you know?" Tyler asked while shrugging "hey guys" standall said as he joined the three kids and Zoey tensed up "you okay? Do you need help with anything?" He asked "we're good thank you" Tony said and Zoey nodded "I'm gonna get some more wood" Tyler said while harshly dumping the wood out and going away with the wagon

Tony and Zoey went back to putting the wood in the pit and standall walked away

"He's lying, he said that he called Standall, but Standall called him" Zoey said and Tony nodded "that's why we have to watch him" Tony said "you trust him, right?" Zoey asked Tony "of course I do" Tony said and Zoey eyed the boy "I do...a little" Tony said "trust me, he changed for good"  Zoey said "ok, I need to go to my tent, I share it with some random girl, I don't trust her, so I need to check on my things" she said and Tony nodded "I'll be here" he said and she nodded

As Zoey walked past tents she soon walked past one of her new friends

"Knock knock" Zoey said while smiling "hey" Winston said "hey, what's wrong?" She asked "Alex bailed on being my roommate" he said and she sighed "it's fine, he's maybe out of it, I'll promise you he'll stop with this off and on friendship thingy" Zoey said and Winston nodded "do you maybe...wanna you know-be my roommate?" He asked and Zoey smiled "you know what? I will, I don't trust this random girl" she said and Winston smiled "I'll go get my things" she said and Winston nodded with a smile

He thought she was a great friend

"Zoe" Zoey heard and she turned around "hey...Clay" she said "I'm telling you now that it's not safe to stay with Winston, he's dangerous" clay said "were you eavesdropping on me?" She asked "for a good cause, Zoe you need to stop hanging around him" Clay said "why it's not like he's hurting you-and plus, I'm not stopping you from hanging out with Ani" Zoey said "she's not even here, why do you keep bringing her in our conversations?" Clay asked "maybe because I'm getting replaced by her...did you ever think of how lonely I felt?" She asked "well maybe you're not so lonely, you have Winston, isn't that right?" Clay asked "Clay..why do you care-" Zoey got cut off by Clay "I care because I can't trust him, and I'm trying to protect my best friend" he said "you haven't been treating me like your best friend, Tyler has, Tony has, even Winston" Zoey said and Clay sighed and grabbed her both of her hands and Zoey looked down at their hand

They hadn't touched each other, like physically hugged in months, Zoey felt a weird feeling in her stomach, she knew she liked the boy, but it was wrong to. He had a girlfriend, and he was her best friend.

"Listen, we can't trust him, he knows that Monty was framed" Clay said "how?" Zoey asked "he was with Monty that night.." Clay said "why was he with him?" Zoey asked and Clay looked her in her eyes "m-Monty was gay? Bi?" Zoey asked "maybe, we don't know...but he can go against us" clay said and Zoey looked over at the boy and they made eye contact and she smiled lightly and he gave her a smile in return

"Ok, but I can't bail on him like Alex did, he's sweet though, wait-is that why Alex bailed? Because he knows about him and Monty?" Zoey asked and Clay shrugged "just, don't tell him everything" clay said and she nodded "I know, now relax...stay calm" she said while removing her hands from and walking away

Winston watched as Clay watched Zoey walk away

Winston walked back into the tent and so did clay
