"How did your dad even get them to let us share dorms?" Zoey asked shocked "he told them a little of our traumatized past, and said we got separation anxiety then...boom" Alex smiled and Zoey laughed "I'm glad he did, I didn't think I'd be able to make any new friends, I probably seem to closed off because I miss everyone" she said while she placed her luggage next to her bed and she looked around

"Not too bad" she said and Alex looked around "yeah, it just needs a little posters...more pop" Alex said "I've never had poster because I never found the band I was looking for" she said "and what band is that?" Alex asked "uhh, tears for fears, pixies, Gorillaz..you know, like old bands" she said and Alex nodded "go online to buy them" he said and she nodded "I'll keep that mind" she said as she sat down on her bed and looked at the ground

"Are you ready..for your classes?" Zoey asked "no..I feel like I'm not going to be as focused" he said and she nodded "I'm just going to, think of Tyler..I think taking photography was maybe a mistake" she said "if you love it do it. It might hurt, but keep going" Alex said and Zoey looked at him

"Since when did you get so inspirational?" Zoey joked "since..never, I've been told that" he said and she laughed at his honesty "I'd do the same" she said

She tried not thinking of Clay, she didn't want to cry, she wanted to remain calm, she didn't ever think that splitting from her would make her this sad

"Hey, let's walk around..I mean if you want?" Zoey asked and Alex nodded "let's explore" he said and she stood up off the bed

Zoey and Alex walked hand in hand around the place, not trying to lose each other by all the others who were also just arriving or walking around

Zoey held on to Alex's hand tightly as she walked far behind the boy; people walking rudely in front of her and all she did was walk behind Alex

She soon catch up with him

"I almost lost you" she sighed "yea, sorry I smell food" he said and she laughed at the boy seeing the food area, better than a school cafeteria

"They have Starbucks.." Zoey said knowing that was going to be her go to since she knew sleeping was going to be hard for her. She had to still get used to everything. Get used to her knew life

"And Pizza Hut" Alex said

Frat boys.

She instantly ignored their stares gripping on Alex's hand

"You okay?" Alex turned to her "uh, yeah. Wanna go to Starbucks?" She asked and he nodded

They walked up to the line waiting

Once they got up front they order what they wanted

Alex soon told Zoey he was going to Pizza Hut which was right across from Starbucks. Zoey waited for her drink then once it was ready she grabbed her drink and as she was heading to Pizza Hut she was stopped

"Uh hey..." she heard and she looked up to see a boy, one of the frat boys

"Hey" she said awkwardly "so, you just got here?" He asked and she nodded "yeah, I assume most of us did...but not you of course?" Zoey said with a questioning tone not trying to sound rude and he laughed "yeah" he said and Zoey phone vibrated, she saw a YouTube video as posted, she instantly cleared all her notifications

He looked down at her phone

"That's your boyfriend?" He asked and she looked up at the boy to see him looking at her lock screen

It was Clay, with a wide smile

She smiled lightly at the boy in the picture

She didn't know how to respond, they were taking things slow, but they were also best friends, but they were also kind of a thing. It was confusing.

"He's my best friend" she said as she smiled at her screen "your eyes say other wise" he said and she blushed

"Zoey" she heard and looked past the tall frat boy who stood in front of her to see Alex with his eyebrows furrowed

"I have to go. My...also other best friend is calling me" she said "I'm Josh, by the way" he said "Zoey" she said and smiled weakly and walked over to Alex

"What was that?" Alex asked being suspicious of the boy "I don't know, he randomly walked up to me...he was..super curious, he asks a lot of questions" she said "like what?" Alex asked as he slightly moved the box of pizza towards her and she took a slice

"He looked at my lock screen and saw Clay, he asked if Clay was my boyfriend" Zoey explained as they sat down at the tables that were outside "and what did you u say?" Alex asked "now you're being just like him, anyway. I told him that Clay was my best friend" she said and Alex stopped going for his second bit

He placed the pizza in the box and looked at Zoey

"You guys a definitely more than best friends, you guys just need to date already. It's killing me" Alex exaggerated while he picked up his pizza again and begin to eat again Zoey couldn't help but blush

She stuffed her mouth; biting a big piece of pizza not trying to talk about their relationship

She'd never stop talking about him if he was the topic

Josh walked back up to his friends and they all smiled at him

"What's her name?" Kevin asked "Zoey" Josh said and they all just smiled widely "is she taken?" Max asked "I don't know, her lock screen was of this boy, she said it was her best friend but the way she looks at him says otherwise" Josh said "so..she's off the map?" Jaden asked "Yea..I mean we could be her friends, she seems to have a lot of boy best friends" Josh said as he looked over at her

The boys following where his eyes had set.

On Zoey, sitting across from Alex as they laughed "you sure that's not her boyfriend?" Caleb asked "no, she said that was also her best friend" Josh said "oh, what about her?" Caleb asked while pointing to a random red head, with bright blue eyes

"I'm going in" Max said "I saw her first" Caleb said as he pulled the boy back "guys stop, you're acting like kids fighting over a swing" Josh said and the boys sighed

It was only there second year at this college, and yet the were the most popular. Frats. How?
