Zoey looked down at her phone seeing a message

She didn't pay much attention to the teacher, and that didn't matter

Justin is getting his ventilator off so he can talk to us

Zoey froze knowing exactly what that meant, her eyes watered as she texted the boy back

Zoey put her things into her backpack quickly as her teacher looked at her "Zoey what are you doing?" He asked "I, I have to go...now" she said while standing up; the attention now on her

She ran out of the class room and down the hall

She pushed the door open running over to her bike

She started pedaling quickly making her legs burn, tears brim her eyes quickly as she thought about Justin. She cried as the wind dried her tears, making her face cold

Once she got to the hospital she placed her bike on the side of the building, like she always did

She walked into the building getting another visitors sticker

She made it to the waiting room and looked at Clay who sat in the chair while looking down

She walked up to the boy and sat next to him

"Clay.." she said and he looked up at her, she looked at his puffy red eyes and her heart broke "i know, it's hard...but I'm here for you" she said and the boy nodded slowly

Zoey places her hand on top of his gently and she rubbed her thumb softly over his hand

He leaned his head onto her shoulder, tears fell down both of their faces

"Do the others know?" She asked and Clay stayed quiet for a moment "Yea, they're coming after school" Clay said and nodded

Zoey slowly got up as Alex and Tony looked at her sending her a reassuring smile

She smiled lightly as she went into Justin's room

"Hi Justin" she said with a smile "hi, Zoey" he said and tears started to fall down her face as she the boy twitched; not being able to breathe correctly anymore

"Justin..." Zoey wiped her tears and Justin tears fell down his face too "I can't explain how good of a best friend you've been to me, and everyone else" Zoey said and Justin smiled lightly "I just wanted you to know that you are a good friend, best friend, brother, son, and student and I'm happy that you've became one of my best friends" she said while wiping her tears Justin smiled weakly while looking at the girl "I'm glad you've became my b-best friend...too, Zoe. I'm..sorry that I was a dick you-to before we..bec-came friends" Justin choked out and Zoey sniffled as she smiled "you're so strong Justin...so so strong..." she cried "and I appreciate you, you mean so much to me, you're like my brother..and you're the best, as much as I complained about you being a bad barista I have to say you were a pretty good one" she said and laughed lightly and Justin let out of laugh"t-thanks" Justin said and smiled "I love you, justy" she said "I love..you too, Zoey" he said "I'll be outside, but more people needs to talk to you.." she said and he nodded lightly

Zoey walked out to see them all looking at her "I..I need something to drink" she lied and tried wiping her tears, but more proceeded to fall down her face

They nodded while looking down

Zoey walked out of the waiting room, walking outside

She walked back and forth in front of the hospital with her fingers in her hair as the tears on her cheek soaked her face, she couldn't believe that this was happening. This was all quickly going downhill.

"Zoey.." she heard and she turned around to see Winston

She backed away

"What are you doing here?" She asked not trying to be rude "I...I was looking for you" he said and she furrowed her eyebrows "w-why?" She stuttered while wiping her face

"I need your help" he said and she furrowed her eyebrows "with what?" She asked and Winston looked around "Alex...he told me what he did" Winston said "if you think you're gonna get me to get Alex in trouble or ask for the truth I'm not telling you, I'm going through a lot right now" Zoey said "no...i-I love Alex, and I don't want to do it...and I don't know how to feel.." he said and she looked up at him "you...should tell him, even if it hurts or if it goes wrong, just make sure he knows" she said Winston nodded at girl

Clay walked outside of the building and engulfed Zoey into a hug

Her arms instantly wrapped around the boy

He soon pulled away and to see Winston

"What are you doing here?" Clay snapped he then looked down at Zoey "was he bothering you?" He asked and she shook his head "I...was just leaving" he said and he begin to walk away

Clay looked down at the girl, his eyes still being red

He wiped the tears off the girls face "wanna go back inside, it's cold" he said while pulling her closer and she nodded

She didn't know what to feel, everything didn't feel real to her, her best friend was dying in the hospital, and she couldn't hold it together
