WARNING: Rafe is an asshole asshole you know. He is based off this one dude that outed me to some of his friends. He says a slur against queer people (mostly used on lesbians) in this story. I would never use this word to bring people down or how it has been used to queer people in the past. As being queer myself and having this word used on me many times, I know how people react. Again i am using this for story purposes i would never use it against my community.

Reader's pov.

I was walking to the dock to meet my girlfriend of 5 months Rebe. I know we have been dating for a while and should have probably told the pogues that I.. ya know.. listen to girl in red, but I haven't said anything. The homophobia from my fellow kooks and parents are enough to make me comfortable in the closet for the time being. Rebe is out and proud but I don't have the balls to.

We are meeting at the dock to take a boat to the Marsh to have a picnic in the boat and as I wait I get a text from JJ.

JJ: we are meeting at the house (John B's). Haul ass and get here.

Y/N: Sorry bubs I'm busy. Love ya

JJ: With what we are your only friends lol. Are you meeting up with this mystery boy??

After that comment I leave him on read as Rebe pulls up. I kiss her quickly and we are off. One more thing I should tell y'all is that I may or may not have told my friends I'm talking to this boy. i have a hunch they think it's Rafe which disgusts me. We used to 'date' but it was more of a cover up for me being gay af. one day he found out about about Rebe and lost it. He hasn't told anyone oddly and I hope to god it stays that way. I feel the pogues wouldn't ask him considering they hate him that much so I feel good.

JJ Pov

We all sat in the boat getting ready as I walk over.

"Where is Y/N?" John B says

"Said she can't come. Probably hanging out with Rafe." I say shrugging clearly jealous.

"We don't know it's Rafe JJ She would never hangout with that monster " Kie says.

"Bet." I say to Kie. I have had a thing for Y/N for a while and it hurts that she is lying to us about where she is. "Let's go right now." I say

"JJ what are you talking about?" Pope says.

"Sarah's lets go to your house and we will see Y/N there."

"Jj we don-"

"No Kie we are going now" I yell. everyone stares at me as i start up the boat to take to the dock behind Sarah's.

As we pull up we can see Rafe in the window doing god knows what. He sees us and comes out looking angry.

"What the fuck are you guys doing here" Rafe says spitting in out faces.

"We need to talk to Y/N."I say spitting back.

" Why the hell would she be here, pogue."

"Listen cut the shit Rafe, we know y'all are macking on each other. Just bring her out here and we will be out of your way." John B tries to reason.

" Why the hell would I be macking on that Dyke?" Rafe yells. We stand there shocked.

"How fucking dare you use that word especially against Y/N! Just because she wont let you in her pants doesn't prove anything!"

" Wow, you all are have to be the dumbest people I know. Why do you think she broke up with me." I could name several reasons But I chose to stay silent. "Its because she doesn't like men.

She cheated on me with her girlfriend, dumbass. Look if you don't believe me go see your little friend at the Marsh. I passed her and Rebe on the way home."

"Fine lets go,'' I say eagerly to prove him wrong. There is no way...right? Right, I tell myself. We hop on the boat and make our way there. We stop when we see a boat in the distance, positioned so we can see them but they can't see us. I see two girls, one dark skinned one I recognize as Y/N and another tanner girl. They are laying down talking. Seems platonic enough, I knew Rafe was just trying to get us to leave. I turn around to tell everyone its time to go but hear laughing. I see Y/N being picked up bridal style by this girl Rafe called Rebe.

"Rebe stop I dont wanna get my hair wet right now." Y/N laughs

"Oh don't be a baby" Rebe replies before dropping Y/N in the cold water. I see her swim up and take out her hand so Rebe can pull her out.

"I'm not falling for your games Y/N." She says crouching down to meet Y/N's face.

"Aww, I just want a kiss baby girl." Y/N says. I feel a tug on my heart as I hear that. Kissing definitely isn't platonic is it?

"Fine but only because you are cute when you are wet." Rebe says winking.

"Are you serious Rebe. Knock it off." Y/N hits her arm. I see Rebe go down and kiss Y/N on the lips before Y/n pulls her in. I feel tears wanting to fall as I look at the rest. Everyone is standing there in shock. They come out of the water laughing and kissing as I feel a tear drop. Sarah puts a hand on my back. They all know about my crush. They helped me plan a way to tell her when I feel brave enough. I suddenly see Rebe look at us in shock as she whispers something to Y/N. Y/n looks at us with a terrified face. Before anyone can say anything I start the boat and we leave.
