You tightly gripped the the hem of your [favorite color] cotton jacket. Your backpack hung losely on your right shoulder, the hood of your jacket over your head.
You led yourself towards the place that was once hell to you. You were beginning to understand it was not worth hating so much. Not going to deny, you still felt a hole of loathe in your soul for volleyball. But you were happy yesterday healed you even only a little.
"[Y/n]!" An over-energetic orange headed guy waved his hands towards you when you were just about to enter the building.
You had no idea who he was and how did he got your name, but you waved your hand back at him, forcing a smile. You were not certain that all these guys would be as nice and friendly as Kageyama - a sentence you would never expect to say even once in your whole life.
Your eyes roamed around the massive room, searching for a particular black haired boy.
You found him at a long wooden bench on the very end of the court, leaning his back against the wall relaxedly with white air pods sucked in his ears. His eyes were shut close while his strong arms rested on his chest, crossed.
You walked up to your setter friend. Your shoes squeaked against the wooden planks a couple of times as you passed by some volleyball players from your new school's team. Most of them looked at you with a weird stare, watching as you walk your way. You ignored them.
"Tobio." You called, waving your hand in front of his face when he didn't respond.
Then you took off one of his air pods, shocking him. He gasped as soon he saw you standing there out of nowhere.
"[Y/n]!" He straighten up his posture and cleared his throat. "Y-you came."
Kageyama was relieved. He only implement the first few practice matches and bailed on the rest. He was disappointed thinking you would not come, so he ignored everything and sat by himself listening to sports podcasts.
"Of course."
"So, this is the girl you spied on last week, yeah?" Tanaka gave Kageama an evil smirk. Only to be earning a glare from his junior, causing him to shrink, scared as hell.
Kageyama jumped from his seat and jogged into the middle of the court. He felt his spirit boost up, feeling a sudden urge to show you his ability and awesomeness when he's in a match with his team. "I'm playing." He said to Sugawara, who was taking his place when he went for a break.
Suga wanted to play. However, the look at Kageyama's face and the fact that a girl boosted up his energy made him soft. "Here." Sugawara nodded and gave the first year setter the ball on his hand. Smiling brightly, he ruffled Kageyama's hair before jogged out of the center field.
You sat there watching a volleyball practice match yet again. The last time you've done this was two years ago, proudly watching him in action with his position as an ace. You loved him to bits, and losing him was your greatest guilt.
When you watched the Karasuno team, setting, spiking, serving. The sound of the ball hitting the floor. The atmosphere in there, just the same as the one you've experienced all the time before. You can't help but having flashbacks of him, being the backbone of his team. His warming smile that brights up the room everytime.
When you've finally had enough, you ran towards the exit as quiet as possible, hoping no one notice your disappearance. But it was not unnoticable at all. Attention was all around you, even the game stopped.

Kageyama heard the constant stomping on the wooden floor. His curiosity drove over him. He missed the ball passed to him and tried to find the source instead. He saw a slight figure of you exiting the building. So he abandoned everything he was doing and chased after you right away.
"Argh!" He punched the door with his fist when he lost you from his sight. He already tried his best to be a good friend to you, to impress you. Was that not enough? To keep you close and make you stay?

No one in the team was brave enough to get close to Kageyama this time.
Suga was prepared to smack Hinata and Tsukishima if they dared to get Kageayama's nerve even more worse. And he was incerdibly surprised when he found out the both of them didn't plan to. Everybody was terrified.
Kageyama already spent his time looking for you between matches, yet he got no satisfying result. He planned to just head home after practice. But a thought came into his head. He remembered that one time. When he saw you climbing up to a roof.
Less than a second, the sprinted from the changing room to the location he hoped to find you. He ran all the twist and turns, and when he arrived, he climbed up fast.
There you were, laying your back on the roof, puffy red eyes staring at the stars.
"Beautiful isn't it?" He said after calming himself down.
You heard that familiar voice and couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Hey."
Kageyama laid down closely beside you. So close that his elbow was touching yours. Both of you had a small smile hiding out a pain. His was caused by your questionable behavior. It hurted him seeing you always running away, away from him. And yours were caused by the same never ending pain haunting you everyday, every year.
