Nightmares

My eyes shot open, and I gasped for air. My head was pounding, and my face was drenched in sweat and tears. 

Griffin's head was buried in my neck, and he was kissing me repeatedly.

"I'm so sorry babe. Did I wake you up?" I asked, tears still streaming down my cheeks.

"Shh, shh, shh," Griffin cooed, wrapping his arms around my trembling form, "Don't worry about me, Kio. Just tell me what’s wrong."

"I-I…" I gasped again, feeling a sudden wave of nausea. 

"Breathe, bubba. In and out." Griffin commanded, running a comforting hand through my hair. I took a few deep breaths before trying again.

"N-nightmares."

I began sobbing uncontrollably after that, Griffin kissing away every falling tear.

"Oh baby, do you want to come sleep in my bed tonight?" He asked, stroking my cheek softly.

I nodded, clinging tightly to his shirt. 

"C'mere baby boy." Griffin said, lifting me from my tear soaked sheets. He carried me to his room and laid me down on his bed.

"Stop crying, bubba. You're okay, baby boy, you're okay." 

Griffin began to tickle my sides before leaning down to blow gentle raspberries on my neck.

"Babyyyhehehe!" I shrieked, childlike giggles bubbling from my mouth. 

"There's my cutie!" Griffin teased, littering my face in kisses, "There's my adorable little angel!" 

I grinned widely and pecked Griffin on the lips, causing him to pout when I pulled away. 

"You know how much I love you, right Kio?" He said. "And I want you to be happy. You can come to me for anything, baby boy."

"I am happy." I replied quietly. "You make me happy." I blushed, and buried my face into Griffin's chest.

"I love you so much, bubs." Griffin whispered.

"I love you too, Griff." I replied. "So so so, much." 

Griffin smiled and kissed my forehead lovingly. "What did I do to deserve such a perfect human being in my life?"

"Oh hush before I kiss you!" I teased.

"Hmm, I don't think I'll be hushing anytime soon if that's the consequence." He replied, smirking.

With that, I slammed my lips against Griffin's, kissing him roughly. I grazed his lips with my tongue requesting entry, which he gladly granted. Griffin returned the gesture initiating a fight for dominance, which he ultimately won. 

Griffin pulled away, much to my dismay, and laid a tender kiss on my forehead. 

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to his chest. I inhaled deeply, overwhelmed by his intoxicating scent. 

"Sweet dreams angel." Griffin whispered.

We both slept very peacefully that night, enveloped in each other’s arms.
