Bibi's POV
Abuja, Nigeria.

I awoke very early today and decided to have corn flakes before breakfast was ready. I actually enjoy any type of cereal, be it baby food. Cerelac, golden morn , custard – you name it, all.
I could survive on all this and not need any other thing for the rest of my life. By the time I was done with my cup, breakfast was ready, and it was masa and miyan taushe, another favourite of mine.

I went back up and woke the others before going back down to dig in. After breakfast we spent the day lazing around and gisting. Then Leena and Jawahir said they have somewhere to be but will be back soon. So I decided to take a nap.

I awoke an hour later, prayed dhuhr and continued watching this vlog I've been watching on YouTube. And as I'm scrolling onto the next one, the girls barge into my room full of excitement.

"What is wrong with all of you?" I ask, sitting up. "Come on, get ready; we're going out. And yes, we have Mama's permission, so let's get going." Yaya Nana says. "But I don't want to go anywhere." I pout."Don't give me that crap; you're going to be a married woman soon. If I were you, I'd make the most of it before then. Trust me you're going to regret not enjoying your last few days as a single person." She drags the blanket off me, and I groan.

"And I also won't be able to find time for myself, so please be going but bring me back whatever goodies you're going out to get." I say, bringing the blanket back up to my chin."It's like I wasn't clear the first time; I'm not asking because you're coming.  Afnan get a scarf for her from her things." She orders her before coming round to drag me from my bed, all the while I'm complaining and wailing, even as we make it down the stairs and out of the house.

"Walahi I swear you're so stubborn." Afnan says as we walk out of the house and head for the car. "May I at least know where you guys are hijacking me to?" I ask as I take my seat. "Just be quiet; we'll be there soon. It's not far from the house." Is all, Ya Nana says before we hit the streets of Abuja. I remain quiet for the entirety of the ride, ignoring all the noise coming from the people I call family until the car comes to a stop.

"Why are we here?" I ask as I alight the car. "Kisan matsalana da keh? Do you know my problem with you? You ask too many questions." Ummi says this time around. "Because you brought me here, shikenan, I don't have the right to say anything?" I mutter as they drag me inside the building.

We walk to the backyard, and immediately we get there. My friends yell, Surprise! It's a surprise bridal shower. Am I surprised? Yes, was this a good idea? Yes, but do I like it? I don't think so, but for the sake of others, as always, I plaster a fake smile on my face.

"Aww, you guys, you didn't have to do this. It's too much." I pout, going round to give everyone a hug except Leena, Fayha and Jawahir, whom I eye because they know very well how I feel about all of this, yet they still went ahead with it.
I spotted some of my coursemates from Baze whom I was a bit close with before i left.

I know it's all Leena's and Afnan's doings. The backyard was decorated with pink flowers and confetti. It looked very beautiful, if I must say so myself. We made our way into the house to get ready. "How did you guys even get a dress this fast for me?" I question as Fayha zips me up.

"You know the place you took your dresses to for the wedding. We asked for another dress to be made for you, but we said we'd come for it much later, and they delivered." Ummi explains, and I nod.

We all got sashes; mine said soon to be Mrs, Yaya Nana's says soon to be mom, Leena's says I'm next, and all the others had theirs.I hated noise, but what option do I have? I was forced to dance, but I really enjoyed the food. We took pictures, and I cried a lot. Only a few here actually know the main reason behind my tears, but what's been done has been done.

It's best to get on with it and go with the flow. The party ended around six thirty, and everyone was beginning to leave, so we gave out gift bags to everyone. This girl really thought of everything. The driver got our boxes from the hall, and finally we left.

We came back home around seven, took our baths quickly and prayed Maghrib before heading downstairs to meet our mothers and tell them of our day. I had just one more day before I became that monster's wife.
