The Year Rules were simple.
Year 1- Crawl
Year 2- Walk
Year 3- Talk
Year 4- Start second language
Year 5- Start school
Year 6- Anything not completed on time from Years 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, result in Abandonment
I didn’t begin walking until Year 3. I didn’t start talking until Year 4. And because of my inadequate vocabulary, and bad posture, I wasn’t allowed to start school until Year 6. But it no longer mattered.
Year 6 wasn’t going to be the start of a long academic career for me. It was going to be: Year 6: Abandonment for Felisha Martins, date of birth November 19th, 2509.
Abandonment date: November 19th, 2515
Year 6 was going to be my breaking point.
Year 6, was meant to put me in my place.
But I wasn’t going to let that happen.
