Hey guys, hope you're doing well!
This is the chapter that's been a long time coming; the gang finally stepping up to Klaus. I wish it didn't take me as long as it did to get here, but my original plan for this book has been changed more ways than I can count. Nevertheless, those changes were necessary and made it all the better, so I hope you enjoy this chapter!!

**Forgive me if some bits are confusing, I'm bad at writing conflict. I promise I will try to be as detailed as possible!**

Third Person POV

"Are you sure the spell will work?" Damon asked Bonnie apprehensively.

Bonnie, Damon, Elena, and Rebekah were all in the woods near Wickery Bridge late at night. Tonight was the night they were finally executing their plan to get rid of Klaus. Bonnie had just performed a spell on Elena to ensure that even if she died, (which would be avoided at all costs) she would come back to life.

"For the third time, yesI'm sure it will work, Damon," Bonnie replied, annoyed.

"Why does it matter? I'm not actually killing her anyway." Rebekah remarked with an eye roll.

"But I don't trust you, remember? And I'm not taking any chances." Damon said rather aggressively.

His tone softened when he turned to look at Elena. "You don't have to do this you know,"

"We don't really have any other choice." She told him sadly.

He nodded, looking down. "I know."

"Everything is going to work out, okay?" She asked him, squeezing his arm comfortingly.

He looked up to meet her eyes, finding solace there. He noticed her shiver in the cold October air and wrapped an arm around her comfortingly. She coiled into his chest instinctually.

"Are you guys like, a couple now?" Rebekah scoffed.

Bonnie tried to hold back a chuckle when Damon shot her a glare that could turn someone to stone.

"Someone call them and see if they're ready," Damon said, changing the subject. Caroline, Stefan and Alaric were waiting by Klaus's mansion with the white oak stakes, ready to attack incase he didn't cooperate. Sure, he was older and stonger than them but with the element of surprise AND a trained vampire hunter, they had a pretty good chance. That and the fact that Klaus had developed a soft spot for Caroline and wouldn't dare hurt her. The odds were looking pretty good.

"I'll call." Bonnie said, pulling out her phone and dialing it before putting it on speaker.

It rang three times before Caroline picked up.

"You guys all set?" Bonnie asked.

"Yep, we just snapped the necks of his hybrids guarding the door." Caroline whispered, most likely because they couldn't let Klaus know they were outside.

"How about you guys?" Ric piped in.

"All good, Damon triple checked that I got the spell right," Bonnie said with a chuckle.

"I'm not surprised," Ric sighed.

"Seriously though, can we do this?" Stefan asked, not to anyone specifically, but the group as a whole.

Damon, Elena, Bonnie and Rebekah all looked at eachother before verbally confirming with a simple 'Yes.'

"Us too," Caroline said from the other line.

"This is our only shot. No funny business. Got it Rebekah?" Stefan asked seriously.

"For the thousandth time, YES. I'm on your side, I want out of here as much as you all want me out. And Stefan, can we go back to the 20's when you actually liked me?" She asked sarcastically.
