"C'mon, Tori! We need to get going!" Angelina shook her awake for the fifth time that morning. Tori stretched, getting up. "I seriously don't see why we have to get up early." She murmured, rubbing her eyes.
"Wood wants us down at the pitch for practice." Angelina yawned, helping Tori out of bed. "I know that but why so early is the actual question."
The two girls met the twins, who were waiting for them down in the common room. "Wow Tori, you actually woke up." Fred teased. Tori groaned in response, tightening her ponytail.
The four made their way down, Katie joining them once they passed the great hall, to the Quidditch pitch where Wood stood in the tents waiting. "Took you all long enough."
"It's hardly six in the morning." Tori snapped, taking a seat on the bench next to the twins. They all sat there, waiting for anyone else to come. Tori was nodding off against the wall behind her, trying not to fall asleep.
"There you are, Harry, what kept you?" Wood asked the boy but gave him no time to reply. "Now, I wanted a quick talk with you all before we actually get into the fields, because I have spent the whole summer devising a whole new training program, which I think will make all the difference..."
Wood pulled in a large chalkboard that had plays, arrows, and lines all over it. He tapped the board with his wand and the lines began to move around. He then launched a long speech about his new tactics that was so long, Fred's head dropped into Tori's shoulder and he began to snore.
The first board took twenty minutes, but there was a second board under that, and a third one under that. Tori nodded along, waking herself up every few minutes.
"So," Wood said, causing Tori to jerk awake and for her to wake Fred, who was still sleeping on her shoulder. "Any questions?"
"Yeah, I have a question." George, who had woken up with a start, asked. "Why couldn't you tell us this yesterday, you know, when we were all awake?" Wood scowled, glaring at the entire team.
"Now listen here, you lot. We could have won the Quidditch Cup last year— but due to some circumstances it of our control—"
Tori hid her face in her hands, wishing everyone would just block that last match out. She knew Harry felt guilty about it as well, as he shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
Wood was trying to regain control, it was clear their terrible defeat was still torturing him.
"So, we're training harder than ever this year! ...Okay, let's go put our new theories in practice." Wood grabbed him broomstick, leading the still tired and stiff team out of the tent. Wood's speech had lasted so long the sun was now in the sky, Tori sighed, mounting her broom and kicking off into the air.
She had to admit, it was nice to feel that thrill as the wind blew against her face. She enjoyed Quidditch and definitely was looking forward to it this year. It just sucked that they had to get up so early...
