SEVERUS SNAPE CONFIRMED AS HOGWARTS HEADMASTER
"No!" said Tori rather loudly, earning uneasy glances from her co-workers around her. She took the newspaper from Tonks, reading it over in a hushed tone.
"Severus Snape, long-standing Potions master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry, was today appointed headmaster in the most important of several staffing changes at the ancient school. Following the resignation of the previous Muggle Studies teacher, Alecto Carrow will take over the post while her brother, Amycus, fills the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."
"'I welcome the opportunity to uphold our finest Wizarding traditions and values -' Like committing murder and cutting off people's ears, I suppose! Snape, headmaster!" Tori shook her head, unable to process this thought.
"The other teachers won't stand for this, McGonagall and Flitwick and Sprout all know the truth, they know how Dumbledore died. They won't accept Snape as headmaster. And who are these Carrows?" She asked Tonks, narrowing her eyes.
"Death Eaters," Tonks replied heavily. "There are pictures of them inside. They were at the top of the tower when Snape killed Dumbledore, so it's all friends together. And, I can't see that the other teachers have got any choice but to stay to try and protect the students."
Tori shook her head, "This can't be—" She fell silent when Yaxley entered the room. He strolled towards the two of them, arriving his eyes.
"Is there a problem here?" He asked cooly. Tori shook her head, setting the paper down. "Of course not, Yaxley."
"Miss Silvers, my office seems to be raining again. Go get Reg Cattermole and tell him to out it out." Yaxley commanded. Tori contained the urge to slap him and gave him a smile.
"Of course," She said between gritted teeth. She left Tonks to pack up the rest of her things and strolled out of the Department. She entered the lift. Arthur, Albert Runcorn, and Reg Cattermore all stood inside. Tori entered, but Arthur spoke before she had the chance.
"Oh hello, Reg," said Arthur, looking around at the sound of steady dripping from his robes. "Isn't your wife in for questioning today? Er – what's happened to you? Why are you so wet?"
"Yaxley's office is raining," said Reg. Tori narrowed her eyes. "If you were already in there, why would he send for me to get you?" Tori asked, her voice laced with annoyance.
"He... what?" Reg asked nervously.
"It doesn't matter. You've got enough to worry about today, besides it was me—" Tori trailed off, realizing Runcorn was still there.
"—who he clearly wanted out of there..." She continued.
"I couldn't stop it, so they've sent me to get Bernie – Pillsworth, I think they said –" Reg rambled on.
