The next morning was chaos. Fred and George had enchanted their trunks to float down the stairs, knocking Ginny down a few flights, Ron and Harry weren't even out of bed, Tori had no idea where her owl was, and it wasn't even nine am.
Mrs. Black and Molly were both screaming at the top of their voices.
"—COULD HAVE DONE HER A SERIOUS INJURY, YOU IDIOTS—"
"—FILTHY HALF-BREEDS, BESMIRCHING THE HOUSE OF MY FATHERS—"
"SHUT UP YOU STUPID PAINTING!" Tori screamed back, calling once again for her owl. "Athena! Here Athena!"
"Where's Crookshanks?" Hermione was yelling down the hall but Tori had already gone back into her room. Crookshanks was hissing up at a corner where Athena sat on a perch, trembling.
"Stupid cat! Get away from her!" Tori shouted, holding her hand out to the frightened owl on a perch. Athena flew down almost immediately, clawing down onto Tori's arm. Tori winched as Hermione came into to collect her cat.
Tori found some bandages, wrapping her palm up to stop the bleeding after she placed Athena into her cage. "WE ARE LEAVING!" Molly yelled through the house, causing everyone to do any last-minute packing.
"Tori, you're with the twins, Ginny, and Remus." Molly shouted over the repeated screeches of ''BLOOD TRAITORS! STALE AND MUD!"
"Leave your trunk and your owl, Alastor's going to deal with the luggage..."
She wrenched open the front door and Tori stepped out into the weak September sunlight. She rushed to catch up with the twins, running her fingers through her hair.
It took them twenty minutes to reach King's Cross on foot and nothing more eventful happened during that time than Fred and George nearly tripping and setting of some of their own fireworks.
Once inside the station they lingered casually beside the barrier between platforms nine and ten until the coast was clear, then each of them leaned against it in turn and fell easily through on to platform nine and three-quarters, where the Hogwarts Express stood belching sooty steam over a platform packed with departing students and their families. Tori inhaled the familiar smell and felt her spirits soar... She was really going back, and for the last time.
Everyone else seemed to be there, Tori watched as Mad-Eye loaded their trunks into the train.
"Well, look after yourselves," Lupin said, shaking hands all round. He turned to the twins and Tori after talking to Harry. ''You three behave."
"Weren't you a troublemaker too?" Tori asked, causing Lupin to chuckle.
''Yeah, keep your head down and your eyes peeled," Moody growled, shaking Harry's hand too. "And don't forget, all of you—careful what you put in writing. If in doubt, don't put it in a letter at all."
