i stand here stripped naked
as my tears hit the floor
my voice cracks as i say
"i can't believe you changed the locks on your door"
your eyes are so cold now
they were never that way before
and i suppose i thought...
that meant we'd endure
yet at the first test of fate
you ran from my scars
when my bandaged heart broke
it rattled even the stars
i thought coming here
i'd beg for you back
but all along it wasn't me it was you
the damaged one under attack
i realize the only reason
you ran when I was broken
was because what you saw
were your own damages awoken
slowly i let out a shaking breath
"i would have taken you flaws and all"
are the words i whisper
as i turn to walk down the hall
and it's true that i loved you
when i thought you a man
but now i know you're a boy
just another boy who ran
