Author's P.O.V.
It was 2 a.m. When she snuck out of bed. She quickly grabbed her stuff and walked out the room. She stopped when she saw Nia walking upstairs with a packet of Oreos. "I won't tell if you don't" Tira said. "Secret safe with me" Nia walked in her room and closed the door. Tira walked downstairs and out the door to her car.
When Tira left, Defonte woke up and looked around for her. He checked the bathrooms, living room, kitchen, basement, guest rooms and even the workout room.
He walked upstairs to Nia's room. He opened the door and saw Nia up eating Oreos and watching goosebumps. Defonte turned on the light and walked to Nia and took the Oreos away from her. "Why are you up?" Defonte said. "I couldn't sleep"
"Do you know where Tira is?" Nia nervously looked around. "No, when did she leave"
"I didn't say anything about leaving. Nia if you know anything please tell me"
"Is it a life or death situation?" Defonte is starting to get irritated. "Nia Katy Wilson, where the hell is Tira?"
He didn't mean to curse at her, Defonte is just really mad and irritated and he didn't have time for games.
Nia immediately got scared of her father. He never used curse words at her.
"She just left 10 minutes ago" She looks down in fear. Defonte kneeled down to her level "Daddy is sorry. I didn't mean to say that" he wipes the tears with his thumb before giving her a hug. "It's okay, I understand" Nia said.
Defonte P.O.V.
I put on sweats and my wife beater. I grab my keys and phone, I walked in Nia's room and picked up her sleeping body. I grabbed her blanket and put it on her body. We walked downstairs and grabbed Nia a apple before walking out to my car.
Tira's P.O.V..
This whole time I was crying, watching the notebook and eating chocolate ice cream. The reason why I left is because I tried to save myself from more heart break.
Before I put another spoon full of ice cream in my mouth the door bell rung. I kicked my feet out of bed and walk downstairs not caring what I look like stuffing my face.
I open the door, immediately Defonte barged in with Nia in his arms. I closed the door, the only thing I was thinking is to hide away in my bed.
I tried to run upstairs but he caught me by the arm and push me into the wall, while still holding Nia.
He put her down on couch. Defonte walk up to me and kissed me with force. The ice cream slipped out of my hands and hit the floor. He pulled away "Don't you ever leave me without announcing your self"
I nod. "Why did you leave anyway?"
"I was scared"
He looked confused "Of what?"
"I was scared that you would break up with me. I wanted to save my self from the heart break and leave before you leave me"
"Why would I want to break up with you?"
"Because, during inter course I screamed and I knew I sound ugly. Also the way you looked at me was embarrassing, it seem like you was thinking 'was that a seal or my girlfriend'"
He pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head. I took the opportunity to pick up the container and spoon from the ground and put it in the sink. I turn around and hit his hard chest, he kissed my lips and pulled away. "I love your voice, don't let anybody else tell you any differently"
I nod "But aren't you mad that I can't speak to you like a regular person"
"Babe you are a regular person and you are speaking to me right now. It might not be coming from your mouth but it's still speaking. I don't care if you can't say my name during sex, just show it that you love it."
"Okay. I'm sorry for leaving this morning, I just panicked" I looked down. He put two fingers under my chin and lifted my head up so that I can look in his eyes. "If you panick about anything talk to me, I'm here for you. You can ask me anything and I'll answer it with no hesitation. Just don't leave again, especially not at 2a.m. You almost gave me a heart attack and I accidentally cursed at baby girl"
"What the hell Defonte? She didn't know any better, why didn't you stop yourself from using sign language to say a curse word. Gosh, did you say sorry?"
"Yes I did. And I told her its a bad word to use so don't worry, she won't use it in class"
"Good" I tried to walk pass him but he push me back. "Promise me you will never leave me like that again"
"I promise" I peck his lips and walk to Nia. I kneeled down to her level and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She did the cutest yawn ever. I rub her cheek before picking her up. I took her upstairs in my room and put her in my bed under the covers.
I walked downstairs and saw Defonte sloshing on the couch and pinching the bridge of his nose. I stood in between his legs.
"You can go to sleep" I said. He sat up straight and rubbed his eyes. "No, I'm good" he pull me into his lap. "Defonte just go to bed, I won't leave" He just stares until my eyes until I peck his lips and rub his cheek. "Okay" he gets up with me in his arms. He carried me upstairs to my room. He laid me down on my side of the bed. He then went to his side and laid down. He pulled me in closer to Nia and put his arms over both of us.

"Do you really have to leave?" Nia asked. "Yes sweet heart. I promise on your birthday I will send you a big gift, but it's a surprise so you would have to wait to find out" Defonte said. He had on his army uniform with his two duffel bags in his hand. We was in the airport waiting for his flight. "Can I come with you?" Nia said. Defonte smiled and shook his head "I will come back soon okay. During the time I'm not here make sure you take care of Tira and grandma and have fun in school. Do you still have Mr. Popper?"
Nia nod and took out her stuffed penguin. "Okay good. If you really need me just hug on Mr. Popper and it will feel like I'm there holding on to you"
"I'm going to miss you" Nia wiped her tears away. "I'm going to miss you too sweet heart" a few tears slide down his face. They gave each other a tight hug, they pulled away and gave each other a kiss.
Defonte stood up and gave his mom a hug and kiss on the cheek. He turned to me, I wrap my arms around his waist and put my head on his chest. Silent tears was streaming down my face. I pulled away and looked up at him.
He wiped my tears with his thumb before kissing me. We was sharing a passionate kiss until he pulled away. "Save that for me when I come back" he said. I smiled and gave him another "Make sure you don't run to the danger"
"I won't...I have to go, promise me all three of you will be here when I get back"
"I promise, go before you miss your plane" he kiss all of us on the cheek and grabbed his bags. I picked Nia up and watch Defonte leave.
