UNDER NORMAL circumstances, I wouldn't agree with Loki's plan to overthrow the student government. But I sensed that something was afoot, kaya napagdesisyonan kong makisakay rito. Binulungan ko pa si Lorelei na sundin kung anuman ang pinaplano nitong si Loki.
I wasn't the only one surprised to see Loki talking to Augustus and sharing with him the student's council plan on silencing the criticisms against them. Doon pa lang, alam ko nang may medyo off sa mga nangyayari. He wouldn't think of approaching the very person who tried to take us down weeks ago.
Heto pa siguro ang mas nakagugulat. Loki asked for the help of Stein Alberts. It came as a surprise, not only to me, but also to Lorelei and Jamie. For a moment back there, pabiro kong naisip na baka hindi na ang tunay na Loki ang kasama namin. Baka isang shapeshifter na nagbabalat-kayo bilang siya ang lalaking nasa tabi namin.

If he's really the Loki that we know, he wouldn't text him first. That's just something he would never do. He wouldn't reach out to him either.
Kung na-infect siya ng virus at na kay Stein ang vaccine, he'd rather die than beg for it from that person.
Loki reaching out to the people he despise and acting out of character were already clues that there's more to his idea of coup than he's letting on. Wala siyang sine-share na kahit ano sa amin. He's naturally secretive kaya naiintindihan ko ang kanyang attitude. Sasabihin na lang niya sa amin ang tunay na rason kapag malapit nang matapos ang kanyang plano.
As for the coup idea, I agree with the steps that he took.
First, he used the Clarion's power to sway the opinion of the student body para magtanim ng idea at maitulak ang kanyang agenda. The more students dislike the student council, the more people might join his cause. Kapag dumating na sa climax, mahahati ang student body sa tatlong factions: ang mga suportado pa rin sa council, ang mga ayaw na sa council, at ang mga walang pakialam sa nangyayari.
Second, he asked Stein to start a whisper campaign within the student body. Para maging matagumpay ang kanyang coup, kailangang may suporta mula sa mga estudyante. It didn't have to be the majority. The power of the student council lies on its officers, the execom members, the CAT cadets, and some loyal supporters. Ang kailangan naming gawin ay ma-outnumber ang mga pro-student council. Siguro pwede na ang two is to one na ratio.
Meron nang discontent mismo sa mga estudyante, pero kailangang i-consolidate ito para maging solid na puwersang magpapabaligtad sa social order sa campus. And to do that, someone needs to stand up and be the face of the rebellion.
"Let's say that the coup is successful," sabi ko habang binabanlawan ang basahan sa may gripo. "How will you distinguish yourself from the incumbent student council?"
