(Peeta's pov)

Mrs. Mellark

Mother of Liam, Ryder, and Peeta Mellark

Wife of Mr. Mellark

Mrs. Mellark was a strict, but caring person. She was not always the most peaceful but always wanted you to do your best, and when she didn't think you did your best, her means of punishment, were not pleasant. She raised three sons with Mr. Mellark, one of which is one of the survivors of the 74th hunger games, Peeta Mellark.

Mrs. Mellark died in the bombing of district twelve with her husband and two of her sons, Liam and Ryder.

(Peeta's pov)

I don't want to write about how she abused my brothers and I. I want her to have a good page in the memory book. I can always add more right? Then it hits me. I could use an actual memory I have with her for the book, as surprising as it may be, I do have some good memories with my mother. I smile and begin to write.

(back to the book)

I (Peeta Mellark) remember one time when I was a young child, I was probably about eight at the time, my mother came up behind me while I kneaded some bread dough. She watched me for a little bit, I was very nervous because I wanted to make her happy. She gave me the slightest smile and said, "Good work Peeta. Since you always work so hard, I would like you to have a cookie." She walked over to a tray of freshly baked cookies and handed me one, it was rare that we ever got anything that was fresh, let alone something like a cookie, so I was very grateful.

"Thank you Mom," I said with a wide smile.

"Eat your cookie then get back to work please."

May she rest in peace.
