CHAPTER 8

I saw some doctors standing there looking at the monitor. A nurse was next to him changing the glucose bottles. The doctors looked at me, then at each other, noddingly and left the room. I was left there alone with my brother.

He had bandages all around his head. His leg was tied; it must've been fractured. I sat on the stool next to his bed. He was sleeping peacefully, or at least that's what I thought.

He had a bunch of tubes attached to him. Tears streamed down uncontrollably.

I stroked his head as I spoke.

" W-why couldn't you be more careful, huh? Why do you like doing this to me? I don't have anyone else in this world other than you. Before we left our father, we promised each other that we would never leave each other. Then why this? Why do you wanna break the promise? I can't leave without you. C-c'mon get up we need to go home. Get up. I'm not gonna leave you alone here. There's no way I can leave you alone. After you get well, I'm gonna give you a big lecture. F-F-from next time I ain't allowing you to go out alone.C-c' mon now get up. Get up...." I said as my tears streamed down. My voice cracked while speaking to him.

The doctors came in. I immediately wiped my tears. They spoke.

" Are you Mr.Kim Taehyung?"

" Y-yes I'm"

" Well, I'm sorry to inform you this but your brother is in a coma. We cannot guarantee you if he will live or not as the damage to the brain is huge."

I could take it anymore.

AUTHORS POV

" Well, I'm sorry to inform you this but your brother is in a coma. We cannot guarantee you if he will live or not as the damage to the brain is huge." the doctor said as Taehyung watched the doctor speak.

His body went numb as soon as he heard the word coma. No, it couldn't be. His brother was not in a coma. It couldn't be. He had promised me he'd be with me no matter what, Taehyung thought.

All of a sudden, he felt dizzy and the next thing they knew was that Taehyung was already on the floor.

The doctor called in male nurses and asked them to place Taehyung in another room as he had lost his consciousness.

Y/N'S POV

After cleaning the house, I finally found some free time. It was almost evening and I hadn't eaten anything. So I made some ramen and sat in front of the T.V. Taehyung wasn't home yet so I thought he was at his friends place or something. I wanted to call him but it had been just a day we knew each other.

I ate the ramen and fell asleep there on the couch with the TV still on.

TAEHYUNG'S POV

I opened my eyes. It was not my bedroom for sure because I could feel some people in white standing next to me. After I gained my consciousness completely, I remembered about my brother. I quickly got up, causing the pole to fall as there were tubes attached to my body.

The nurses tried to hold me down as I squirmed to get out of their grasps. But they were stronger than me and became successful in pinning me down to the bed again. The doctor came to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

" Where am I? What are you doing to me? Where is my brother? Where did you take him? Let me go to him" I said still trying to

" Calm down, young man. You fainted and that is the reason we bought you here. After diagnosing, we came to know that you are dehydrated and have low body sugar. So we are giving you a shot of glucose. And your brother is still sleeping, he is safe here don't worry."

My eyes started tearing up as the doctor mentioned him.

" Is he really in a coma?" I asked, not daring to look at the doctors faced.
" Unfortunately, yes. We cannot say anything for now because it has been a day."
" How did it happen?"
" Well, the man who bought him here said that he was on his bike. He was driving really fast and I think a woman came in front of him from nowhere and since he was too fast, he changed the direction but ended up dashing on a tree. And then before he could get up a car ran over him. Lucky him that he didn't die immediately and some people brought him here. Now we have complications because he was drunk. The effect hasn't still worn out."
" Oh my God. Did you find the car that ran over him?"
" No, the police checked for the CCTV footage but the car no. is not clear. The car drove away as if nothing happened. Do you think he was in a bad relationship with someone? Like friends or something."
" Oh, I don't know. As far as I know him, he doesn't like socializing."
" well, okay. I think the police will be here soon. You will be able to tell them, right?"
" y-yes"

I couldn't believe it. Somebody had perhaps done it to him. He was someone who was kind and caring and would anything even for a stranger. I closed my eyes, resting my head on the pillow.

Y/N'S POV

I opened my eyes. I picked up my phone to check the time. 10.00. Lord, I slept for so long. I called for Taehyung thinking that he was home. But I didn't receive any reply.

So I went into his room to see if he was sleeping, but he wasn't there either.

I dialed his no. and called him.

"The no. you have dialed is currently switched off."

Yikes. Where the heck was he. He didn't even call and tell me if he was gonna be late. I called him again in hopes that he would pick, but I received the same reply again. I hadn't seen him for the whole day. Plus, he hadn't said anything about going over his friends later. Maybe he had a change of plans. But he would've informed.

I decided to wait for him.

TAEHYUNG'S POV

Within an hour, I was done with the glucose and was allowed to go into my brother's room.

I entered his room. He was still sleeping there. I went to him and took his hand in mine.

" Yeonsu ah. Get up. You cant leave so fast. I don't like seeing my younger brother like this. C'mon get up. I'm gonna whip your ass after you wake up from this sleep. I'm sure you will. Remember that time when you were 4. We went to the fair with eomma and she bought us ice creams. You dropped yours and I gave you mine. Now do me favor for that and get up."
