CHAPTER 21

' What's wrong, Mark?' Y/n asked as she sipped on her coffee. He had been silent ever since.

Y/n looked at Mark, who was silently circling the top of his cup with his finger. Confusion ran through him and he said nothing. He lifted his head and looked at Y/n who was patiently waiting for him to start talking.

She couldn't take the suspense anymore, but she anyways decided to wait. She gave him time.

After some time, Mark sighed, a signal that he was about to start speaking. But he still didn't say a word.

' Mark, we don't have the whole day, I've to get home back by 8 and its 7 already. Taehyung will be waiting for me-'
' Its not your home.' 

You got silent after you heard his say that. His voice was cold and sad as if something that he didn't want was happening.

' Do you have to go back?' he said.

' Mark, we have already talked about this. I have to do this for our people, our country-'

' But don't you see the harm to yourself?' he interrupted. ' Can't you see who you are staying with? Doing all this, you could loose your life. And I dont wanna lose you.' his voice faded as he said the last sentence. 

You stared at him, unable to get words out. This was all turning wrong.

' Mark, I know you like me, but...' you know you'd hurt him if you said it. And you didn't want to hurt anyone anymore.

'But what, Y/n? You dont like me? What about that kiss-'
' No Mark, it meant nothing. Nothing at all from my side. It was all so sudden that I couldn't decide anything for myself.'
' But you kiss me back-'
' Those were just my reflexes. Theres only one person I love and thats Taehyung. I might be a fool for falling in love with such a dangerous man but I found something in him, that I didn't find in you. He had everything that made me feel complete and confident.'

' Y/n....'
' Im sorry Mark its true.' You shook your head as you spoke this. You didn't have the courage to look at him in the eye and tell everything.

' Dad was right when he said you couldn't be trusted...'
' WHat do you mean? You dont trust me with the mission? Is that what you mean? Wow, you called me to tell all this? You know what i'm leaving.'

' I called you here to give you this.'

Mark gave you a phone in which you saw a message from you dad. It said: Take him down. No one from that family should survive. I want their clan to end at Taehyung.

You stared at the message, and then gave the phone back to Mark. You took one glance at him and the left.

'Y/N wait! I'll drop you!' Mark yelled as you walked away. But you didn't look back. You took the cab that was already there waiting for you and drove home.

Y/n walked through the corridor to their apartment with a sulken look on her face. Her fathers orders had come and she had no other opton than to follow it.  There was nothing she could do about it now. It was all decided.

She knocked on the the door, which was immediately answered by Taehyung. Her face was streaming with tears and it was an awful sight to see.

Taehyung opened the door with a smile, but it quickly faded as he saw her face. She looked so frail and ill and that made him worry. Y/n looked at him, with tears still flooding and closed the door behind her as she stepped in. Taehyung was too stunned to see you return like this, because of which he couldn't speak anything.

They both stood there looking at each. Both of their minds were racing and their hearts were beating faster than ever. It was a silence which they both understood, and they didn't need to communicate to understand what was going on.
