The Confession

A few weeks after the incident...

•Meilin's Office•

Meilin: Mr. President.

Oscar: Ms. Yang.

Meilin: Secretary Olegario said you wanted to meet me?

Oscar: Yes. I wanted to talk to you about something.

Meilin: It must be very important since you have to fit it into your busy schedule.

Oscar: It's about Lily.

Meilin: Oh. Well, please have a seat.

They both sit down.

Meilin: So, what about Lily?

Oscar: Hindi na ako magpapaligoy-ligoy pa. (paused and smiled) I like her, in fact mahal ko na ata siya.

Meilin laughed.

Meilin: I knew it.

Oscar: What?

Meilin: Hahaha! I'm sorry. (she stopped laughing) Napapansin ko, sa mga simpleng tingin mo sakanya, and the way you act around her.

Oscar chuckled.

Oscar: Hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko when it comes to her.

Meilin: Anong plano mo?

Oscar: Court her.

Meilin: Okay. But what does it have to do with me?

Oscar: I just want to ask you a few questions.

Meilin: What is it?

Oscar: Back when we were stuck in the rooftop, I remember her mentioning Anthony Re....Re...

Meilin: Reyes. Anthony Reyes.

Oscar: Yes! That's him! Anthony Reyes.

Meilin: You talked about him?

Oscar: We did. Uhm... I'm assuming he's her ex.

Meilin: He is.

She sighed.

Meilin: Lily loved him more than she loved herself. She was with him at his worst to his best, she helped him grow. But he cheated on her. Lily was so hurt, it took her several months to move on. I don't want to see her like that anymore. So please, don't hurt her.

Oscar: I won't, don't worry.

Meilin: Don't tell her I told you about this unless she asks.

Oscar nodded.

Oscar: Uhm, about her father?

Meilin: Mas mabuting sakanya galing ang tungkol sa papa niya. She's sensitive about her father.

Oscar: Okay. Thank you. Mauna na din ako, may meeting pa ako with Secretary Borja.

Meilin: Sige. Good luck.

Oscar: Salamat.

Oscar left Meilin's office and went directly to the palace.

•The Palace•

Oscar entered his office and saw that Secretary Borja is already there. Secretary Borja greeted him then they started the meeting.

A few hours later...

Oscar: Just update me on that Secretary.

Delfin: Yes sir.

Captain Salonga entered the room.
