Late Night Talks

•The night before the contract signing•

Lily just got home. A maid greeted her and informed her that she has a visitor.

Maid: Good evening po ma'am.

Lily: Good evening.

Maid: May bisita po kayo.

Lily got confused since she wasn't expecting anyone tonight.

Lily: Sino?

Maid: Si Ms. Meilin Yang daw po.

Lily smiled as she heard Meilin's name. It's been months since they last talked and she wanted to share some new happenings in her life. She rushed to the living room and immediately hugged her bestfriend.

Lily: Meilin!!

Meilin: Lily!!

They hugged each other.

Lily: Kumusta?

Meilin: Ikaw dapat ang kamustahin ko, Presidential Adviser. (she crossed her arms and gave Lily a sarcastic look)

Lily chuckled.

Meilin: Ba't hindi mo sinabi?

Lily: Ang alin?

Meilin: That you're a presidential adviser. Nagkita naman tayo sa China a few months back diba? When you proposed about the Techno Park project.

Lily: I got appointed after that.

Meilin: Paano?

Lily: It's a long story, let's discuss it over wine. (she paused for a second) Sandali, kumain ka na ba?

Meilin: I had an early dinner kanina. Ikaw?

Lily: I had dinner sa palasyo bago umuwi. So that means, we'll have wine then.

Meilin got shocked with what Lily said and just stares at her like she can't believe her.

Lily: Tara?

She saw the reaction on Meilin's faced and just looked at her confused.

Lily: What?

Meilin: What you're trying to say is, you ate dinner, at the palace, with the PRESIDENT? (sounding sarcastically shocked)

Lily: Uhm...yes.

Meilin: Oh! You have a lot of explaining to do. Let's go grab those glasses of wine.

They went to a roofed porch in Lily's room. They drink their wine while talking.

Meilin: Ang ibig mong sabihin, madalas kang kumain kasama ang presidente?

Lily: Oo. Minsan kasama namin ang household staff niya.

Meilin: Household staff?

Lily: Yes. He treats them like family. At, mababait naman sila.

Meilin: I can't believe you.

Lily just chuckled and drinked some wine.

Meilin: Now tell me, how did you become his presidential adviser?

Lily: It all happened so fast actually, I asked Renato for recommendations on environmental projects, days later I received a call from him telling me that the palace is finding sponsors for environmental projects. At first ayaw kong maniwala sakanya, pero sabi niya pinsan niya yung isa sa mga secretaries. I finished the projects successfully. And to cut the story short, napansin kong kailangan nila ng tulong, so I helped them.
