There was silence in the room. Everyone was probably trying to know if my mom was actually serious.

"Are you actually being serious?" Florence's mother asked in awe.

"Yes I am" my Mom proudly replied.
The officers had already grabbed Florence and were leading her to the door.

"Let go of me! Don't touch me!" Florence tried to wiggle out of their grip to no avail "mum please don't let them take me...I said let me go..p-please" Her 'hard girl' resolve broke and she gave in to tears as she sobbed

"Please stop! You can't possibly...no...please don't arrest my daughter. She's still a child-"

"From what I remember, at 18, she's no longer a minor in Nigeria. Madam"
My mother shot back.

"Please Ma, pardon the child" Principal Dorris begged.

"No Principal! No! You should be lucky I am not suing the school instead"

"Mrs Lawal, we can iron this out, Please. We don't have to involve the police" Florence's dad pleaded.

"I will not be satisfied until that brat spends at least a night behind bars, since she knows how to run her mouth like a tap, let her show her talent in jail!" She crossed her arms

"Ma please, I'm sorry. Please don't send me to jail"
Guess who just started pleading?
It was Florence! She was already a sobbing mess
Guess she realized my mom was serious.

"Oh now you are sorry? It's not me you should be apologizing to, but my daughter! When I deal with you my way, then I'll hand you over to the school authorities. Now move!"

Don't ask me why I didn't stop my mother.
I would have stopped her if I really wanted to, but I'm not that kind hearted although a teensy-weensy bit of me felt pity for her. If you mess with me, I will let you suffer. Maybe I got it from my mother.

The whole night, I kept wondering. If my mother could react like that, on hearing I was being bullied, how much more if she finds out the abominable deed of her husband. Maybe it's high time I told her the truth. I was about leaving my room to hers, when I remembered his words.

'Have you seen yourself, you're like a tender eyelash, I can eliminate you with just a flick of my finger. Open your mouth and speak that one word, and your world will be taken away from you! Don't you dare threaten me young girl. If you think you're strong, compared to me, think again"

The key words kept ringing in my head.

'I can eliminate you'
'Speak that one word and your world would be taken away from you'
'If you think you're strong compared to me, think again."

Think again

Think again

Think again

I know you must be wondering why I stayed back and kept mute.
Well, My mother may be strong, but most of her power comes from Mr Lawal, as he's one of the most powerful politicians in the country and a very successful business magnate.

While my mother is  a fashion designer, model and an actress. That's not too much to use to fight such a powerful man like Mr Lawal, is it?

In case you are wondering what happened to Florence, well, she spent a night in jail, to my mother's satisfaction and later the school executed her punishment.
She was sent to another branch of our school in Delta State, where she would be in the boarding school.
Justina was also sent to another branch in Oyo state and as for Tamara, she later came to apologize to me. Although she wasn't transferred from the school, she was asked to be nice to me, or stay away from me.
She chose to be nice and we ended up being friends before she graduated.
As for me, I was also punished for hurting Justina.
