Brenda's POV
"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" I ask in annoyance, while searching their faces for answers.
"Juanita has left the house"
She left the house?
To where?
If she went out, then why are they acting so weird?"What are you talking about?" I scorn.
"She left the house, her things are no where to be found"
My heart drops."W–What?!"
"Yes ma'am."
I quickly rise up from the bed, ignoring the throbbing pain in my head.
"Ma, you can't stand up just yet. You need to rest"Fuck that bullshit!
I ignore their protects as I walk out of the room.
They're lying.
My Juanita would not leave her mother just like that.I push open the door to her room, before sauntering in.
I take a look around the room, and lo and behold, the room looks empty and cold.
I quietly sit on the bed, allowing the hot tears roll down my cheeks.
She left.
My Juanita.
What have I done?I'm such a terrible mother.
My own daughter can't stand me anymore.***
"Your best is not enough"
"If you really love me as you claim, you would stop hitting me like I'm an animal! You know what? I'm sick and tired of you! The only thing you ever do is insult me and tell me how dull of a person I am. Never have you sat down to ask me why I changed and what caused it. Never"
"You'll push everyone away from you if you go on with this pompous lifestyle! Maybe that's why my dad left you!"
Her words replay in my head as I let my pain out through tears
***
I sob, as I fist on her bed cover, only to feel a weird surface.
I shift my gaze to the paper on the bed.
MUM
It reads.
I quickly wipe my tears before grabbing it.Hello mummy,
If you're reading this letter, it means you already know I have left the house.
I don't want you to think I left because I don't love you, because I really do. I love you very much, even if I don't always get to say it, I just want you to know I do, even if you always hurt me, I can't bring myself to completely hate you. Even if you don't love me as much as I do you, I still love you, mother
You don't have to worry about me, I'm at my dad's.
Well, I have to go now.
I love youFrom your daughter,
Juanita.Hudson
She's with Hudson.
My heart beat normalizes a little.
At least now I know she's safe.

I've been blaring my horn for some minutes now.
I'm totally losing it. My mobile phone is n where to be found and I need to reach out to my daughter.
