The Momochi Clan Village

Tayu: Now then, to the topic at hand.

Her carefree smile into a serious one as she placed her fork and knife at the plate, signifying that she was finished eating.

Tayu: Recently, we found a huge crater in our deep forest. We held a meeting regarding that. However, no one in our village is capable of such a big one. Its size is comparable to a whole mansion. It's not that deep, however, it's massive, and it took almost 1/4 of the whole forest. Yet, the trees aren't damaged.

Lily: Were there any prior suspicious events that could have led to this incident?

Tayu: Let's see, a few nights before, we could hear several footsteps coming from the forest. However, when our search party searched the place, they found no one.

I then remembered what Kamuy said. Is it them? It all adds up, especially if they're really stronger than Yatagarasu. I could feel chills through my body as I pondered.

Tayu: And now, we're now on a dead end. We actually asked for aid from the Daikoku village, but also to no avail.

Tengge: Well then, why don't we have a search party ourselves?

Enju: I agree. Although, it would be quite dangerous if it were only us.

Tayu: I will lend some of my Men.

Lily: If that's the case, then I think we should go for it too. What do you guys think?

Hotaru: I'm fine with it.

All of them, agreed, except me. I didn't respond. Usually, I will just brush off things. However, it is the Kamuy who warned me. A spirit. I can't take a spirit's guidance for granted.

Kazuki: I want to say something first.

I said. Everyone looked at me surprised.

Kazuki: I don't think, we should go.

Akari: What do you mean, Kazuki?

I clenched my fist as I muster up the courage to tell them.

Kazuki: Because I received a warning from the Kamuy.

Tayu: A-A warning from the Kamuy?

Kazuki: "She warned me of a presence that was watching us from afar when we were still at the ski resort. A presence much more dangerous than what we've encountered before. A presence stronger than the Kakurasu themselves."

Everyone: Much stronger?!

Hotaru: Knowing that someone was watching us all along is very creepy, ugh, it sends chills down my spine.

Nanao: But like, how strong are they specifically? Guten is already strong, I can't imagine someone being stronger than him.

Lily: Well, if what Kazuki really is true, then, great danger just lurks in the shadow.

Tengge: We should prepare, Kamuy is our source. It is most likely true.

Enju: I agree with Tengge.

Myu: And... uhm... I had visions regarding this village...

Tayu: What is it.. Myu?

Myu hesitantly opened her mouth to speak.

Myu: This will get attacked by some unknown ninja! and... and... Kazuki-senpai will get killed!

Everyone: Get killed?!?

Everyone yelled out in shock. It's no wonder. Everything is slowly adding up. The presence that was noticed by the Kamuy, will eventually attack the village, and kill me.

Nanao: But, Myu's vision is not totally super accurate, right?!

Hotaru: Yeah, like, sometimes it just isn't true, right?!"

Myu was unable to answer their questions, as she could only avert her gaze to the side.

Tayu: In any case, we need to be careful. We need to protect Kazuki and this village.

Akari: Yes! Don't worry, Kazuki, we'll protect you!!

She exclaimed in a determined manner, trying to light up the sullen atmosphere.

Enju: Yes, Kazuki. Leave everything to us.

And with Akari's jolly and merry personality, the tense atmosphere was lifted.

I could feel my lips naturally curling into a warm smile at the scene in front of me. How glad I am to be a part of this club.

Tayu: Well then, let's finish up our breakfast, so we can patrol the area.

That being said, we cleaned up finishing at exactly 12 pm.

The first task for us is patrolling the area and making sure that the place is all clear. Then, Mrs. Momochi mentioned that we could have the place all to ourselves.

We made a 3-person group that would conduct patrol throughout the forest every hour, and that cycle continued until it was already 9 pm.

Yamabuki: Wow, yer really good at this, aren't ya, Tengge?

Tengge: *giggle* What can I say?

We played several games of cards to pass the time and in each round, Tengge was always the winner.

I feel tired and somehow drained. Everything has been fun lately, spending time with them, but maybe I still need more sleep.

Kazuki: I'm gonna grab a glass of water real quick.

I said as I stood up, yawning and stretching as I did.

I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed myself a glass of water when I noticed that Myu was staring out the window.

She hasn't been playing with us, saying that she has something to do. And seeing her here alone staring out the windows makes me think that she has a problem she doesn't want to share.

A sense of worry took over me as I found myself walking in her direction.

Kazuki: What are you doing here, Myu? You haven't been playing with us.

Her eyes display a look of concern and worry.

Myu: It's just that...

She murmured in a whispery voice as if she didn't want to share.

Myu: My heart is pounding really loudly and fast... And I could feel It.

Kazuki: It?

Myu: The annihilator of this village, and the person that will kill you.

Kazuki: What?

Myu: S-Senpai... They are here...

Her voice sounded shaky and trembling, her eyes were teary and scared. Just then, we heard many wild animal footsteps coming our way.

I looked over to the window and saw several packs of black wolves coming our way.

Kazuki: It must be an enemy attack!

I immediately ran towards the living room where all the members were.

Kazuki: There is an enemy attack outside!

All of them immediately stood up and grabbed their weapons before heading out.
