Loving Toby (Completed)

Chapter 6

The next day Luna woke up on her designated bed, covered in pillows and blankets as if someone tried to bury her in her sleep. Her memories of last night were hazy, the last thing she could remember was watching Toby's sleeping face.

"Oh shit!" she exclaimed as she tried her hardest to get out of the thick pile of blankets and pillows. Toby was no longer in his bed, as she rushed to the bathroom alongside her bag.

Reading into the long list of messages from her friends to her brother, Luna was on the verge of breaking down. She was supposed to meet with the rest of them at 7 in the morning, but it was past 8 already. Rummaging into her bag to find decent clothes to wear, Luna settled with the yellow floral dress that Athena packed for her, paired it with his white Nike trainers and head straight out of the room to find her friends.

Everyone was laughing and chatting happily while enjoying their breakfast when she entered the lounge area.

"I see, you've traded me for food," she muttered with a frown catching their attention. Luna sat on the vacant spot next to Caleb, snatching the fork on her brother's hand and devouring the bacon dangling on it.

"Hey, that's mine!" Caleb whined begrudgingly but Luna wasn't in the mood to deal with him.

"In our defense, we tried to wake you up as early as 7 am, but you sleep like a bear in hibernation, so we gave up," Lexus explained with a sly smile on his lips.

"I do not!"

"Yes, you are, Toby even asked for help just to wake you up," France added mockingly, Luna gasped in horror realizing that Toby just saw her mess this morning. It wasn't like the first time that Toby had seen her in the morning, FATAL had a thing about sleepovers at least once a month. But it was an entirely different story when it was just her and Toby alone in a room.

"Say Ahh," Athena stuffed her mouth with a spoonful of egg because she could even protest. Throwing a nasty glare at her that Athena brushed off expertly.

"So, what are we doing today?" Caleb asked casually while cutting the chicken on Luna's plate out of habit. Growing up with their dad who's constantly out of the picture, Luna and Caleb relied on each other more than anyone else. As a result, Caleb was used to taking care of her in any way possible.

"Max said we can go kayaking, swimming and there's a party later at night on the rooftop and all guests were invited" Lexus explained and her ears immediately perked at the sound of the party.

After finishing their breakfast and gathering their things for the kayaking adventure in Safe Havens Lake at the back of the resort, which by the way reminded her of The Notebooks Lake where Ally and Noah went before, they get back together and started kissing in the rain and the rest was history. Luna's a big sucker for chick flicks and like most girls needless to say that it's one of her favorite films.

"Okay, so we have three kayaks here and we're going in pairs. Who's going with who will be decided using coins, any objections?" Lexus handed each one of them with a coin, by the looks on his face, Luna knew that Lexus was not up for any objections.

"We'll be divided into two groups with three members, the person from the other group with the same result as your coin will be your partner. Ready?"

Athena, Toby and Lexus were tails while Luna, France and Caleb were heads. The odds of being on the same boat as Toby was quite slim, but it was not impossible. At least that was she constantly reminded herself.
