Chapter 14:'The new guy'

Olivia's POV:

It's been a month now since my mum past away, and I knew that I said the new guy should be here in two weeks but he decided to came one month late. Ugh... spear my life. I sat there waiting patiently for the new person, until someone walked in. A guy with brown hair and beautiful gray eyes walked in.  He wore a black shirt with a white jacket, some white ripped jeans and black sneakers. He came towards me and smiled.

"Why hello there." I mean I might have described him to be handsome tall man but to me he's just a man.

"Hi." I looked down on the files in front of me and looked back at him.

"Your Jacob Sterling?" He chuckled and shook his head.

"The one and only." I stood up and shook his hand.

"Welcome to Heartlock's Interior.  I'm Olivia Thomas the assistant secretary." Did I mention that I got promoted again? Thanks head officers.

"Nice too meet you Olivia." He winked at me, and according to his mind I must suddenly feel butterflies in my stomach. Sorry boy, the only thing I'm feeling in my stomach is hunger and I think you just suddenly spoiled my appetite. I quickly removed my hands and took up the files.

"Well then Jacob, Mr. Heartlock would like to see you now." It sounds weird for me to call him Mr. Heartlock. He followed me to his office. When we reached his office, I knocked his door before entering.

"Come in." I walked in telling Jacob to stay were he was.

"Zane?" He looked up from his papers and looked up.

"What's wrong Olivia?" He stood up and came in front of me.

"Nothing its just that the new guy is here." He smiled.

"Then send him in." I called him out and then he came inside. When locked the door and he turned to Zane and froze.

"This is-"

"Jacob Sterling." Zane cut me off while giving him a cold look. Its kinda scary

"Well, well. Isn't it my old school mate,  Zane Heartlock. You know I never expected you to run a business."

"There's a lot you don't know about me Jacob. " I held on tight to the files in my hands because of the tension between them.

"Like what Zane? Oh, let me guess, like the time you thought that you could get Mina to like you." Wait mina? I looked at Jacob because the name sounds familiar.

"Wait Mina?" Jacob looked at me and smiled.

"Yeah, a girl named Mina Harper. This idiot thought he could ask her out. Why'd you ask?"

"Because Mina is my cousin that pasted away." I said calmly. Zane looked me thinking that I was about to cry but I smiled signaling that I was fine. He looked back at Jacob who was staring at us.

"What?" Zane and I said to him.

"Are you guys together?" Heat crept up on my face because of the question he threw about us.

"No you idiot. Were not dating." Zane shook his head. He looked away from us and I saw his cheek became red.

"Well you aren't you taking?" I rolled my eyes and shook my head saying no. His eyes lit up and I raised my hand in his face before he could talk.

"Now listen to me Jacob. " I gave him a cold glare before talking.  " I am not interested in you or your business. I will not hang out with you or will I date you. Next, you will not bother me when I'm working. And Finally, I will not tolerate with your childish behavior. Got it?" He shook his head in response. I gave him a warm smile before walking away. I went to Zane and gave him the files. He looked at me and laughed, I winked at him and went to the office door.
