Chapter 14: Mesmerized

TERRENCE was standing in front of the elevator on the ground floor and waiting for it to open.

His hands were in his pocket and his eyes were nailed to the floor number's red LED display above the elevator.

After a few minutes, a 'ding' sound was heard and the metallic door opened. Lumabas na ang mga tao mula sa loob pero si Terrence ay nanatili sa kanyang kinatatayuan while his thoughts kept wondering around.

Nakalimutan na niyang pinapa sundo ng Mom niya sina Alyanna pero iba ang tumatakbo sa isip niya ngayun.

"Bakit mo ba pinapakita sa lahat na masama ka Ate Vee? Hindi ka naman talaga masama ehh. I know you are just acting so heartless."

"You are too naive Alyanna. You are still young. Just act like your age sweetheart, wag mong pangunahan ang mga mas nakakatanda sayo kung ayaw mong mas maunang tumanda keysa sa amin. Okay? "

Terrence tilted his head when his thoughts were stock of his sister's conversation with Veronica. Yes, he heard them from the very beginning until the end of their conversation.

Palabas na sana siya sa banyo nang marinig niya si Alyanna.

Kilala niya ang kapatid, mapili siya sa mga taong kinakampihan o kinakaibigan niya at siya yung taong hindi kinakalimutan ang utang na loob niya sa iba.

Napabuga ng hangin si Terrence nang mapag tanto niyang iniisip niya pala ang babae. Damn it. Why can't he get her out of his mind? It all started yesterday when she got drunk.

Umiling lang si Terrence at nang bumukas ulit ang elevator papasok na sana siya nang napahinto siya at napatingin sa mga taong lumabas.

It was his sister and beside her was the woman whom he was thinking of just now but a little different from the woman in his mind.

The woman in his mind was always proud, dominant, conceited, mean, selfish, and rude, the woman who always wears dark and daring outfits.

While the woman in front of him was wearing a pink floral dress, her hair was braided. She looked like a fragile, naive, and innocent young lady. Even if her style and looks changed a little, her proud and dominant aura still never left her.

But who would've thought she could actually look like this? Terrence did not even realize that he was mesmerized by how Veronica tried to look like a naive and fragile lady.

"Ang ganda ni Ate Vee noh, kuya?" Naalis lang ang tingin ni Terrence kay Veronica nang magsalita ang kapatid niya.

Terrence did not answer but questioned his sister instead. "Ang mga gamit niyo?"

Alyanna pouted when her brother avoided her question. Ang hirap pa naman pilitin ang Sister-in-law niya. "May inutusan na si Ate Vee para e baba yung mga gamit namin. Ayy kuya, phone mo pala nakalimutan mo."

"Kumain na kayo, mahaba pa byahe mamaya." Terrence said after taking his phone without looking at the two.

Alyanna pouted even more at her brother's coldness and just nodded.
