When Two Worlds Collide: A Calum Hood Fanfic

Jen POV

All eyes turned to where Calum was looking, to me. Did he just? Oh my god. My mouth was a little open so I probably looked like a mesmerized fish in a tank. I cleared my throat, and with all the confidence I had, I replied, "Yes Calum. I will be your girlfriend."

A round of "awes" and claps went around the audience as Calum jumped down from stage and pushed his way towards me. He picked me up and twirled me around in the air. As he put me down, he slowly lowered his lips to mine.

After that eventful incident, the boys wanted to all go out for dinner. We all decided on eating at Macca's or McDonalds. We were probably the loudest and most obnoxious teenagers there at the time. But I didn't care. Calum had an arm around my shoulder as all of us just talked.

"Well, I better get going, my mom is going to kill me if I'm home too late," Luke frowns.

"Aw its ok mate, let's give these lovebirds some, uh, ALONE time," said Ashton wiggling his eyebrows. They all laughed and Calum flipped them off as they headed out the door.

"Well," he said with a sigh, "It's just you and me."

"Technically it'd be 'you and I' because 'you and me' is grammatically incor-," Calum cut off my rambling by placing his soft lips on mine. As he pulled away, both of us started laughing.

"Your nerdy side is very, and I mean VERY attractive," he said in a husky voice. I just slapped his arm and laughed at how immature he was.

After leaving Macca's, we both decided to watch a movie at his dorm. We ended up watching Finding Nemo, because we live in frikkin Australia lol. And it IS Calum's favorite movie. We were snuggled up as we watched the movie and I wouldnt have it any other way.

The next morning, I woke up to, my mom calling? What could SHE possibly want at 8:00 in the morning? Not like she cared about me anyway.....
I answered her call.

"Hey, uh, mom?" I said, still confused as to why she called me.

"Sweetheart," she said. She sounded like she got no sleep. And she was crying?

"Mom? What's going on?" I suddenly started panicking.

"Honey, I, I don't know how to tell you this," she said. My heart was pounding so hard. I was about to cry even though I didn't know what was happening.

"Jen, sweetheart. I have breast cancer. I've got three more years."
And that's when my heart shattered into a million pieces.
