Bad Day at the Beach (Ashley)

You and the guys were going to the beach for the day. You decided to take the truck so you could bring the surfboards with you, which meant you'd be sitting on Ashley's lap. Yes you guys were dating, but that didn't mean you wanted to sit on his lap the whole way there and back.

"We're here!" Cc yelled, looking out the window at the ocean.

Ash knew of a small 'secret' piece of beach where nobody ever went so, of course, you guys had to go there. There were no lifeguards there, which also meant that you could just drive your truck in.

As Jake parked, you all piled out, happy to finally get off Ash's lap. Jinxx told everyone to put on sunscreen as Cc just ignored him and grabbed a board.

"Race ya!" He yelled at you and Ashley.

You looked at each other and both went to grab a board. Being stronger, and having longer legs, Ashley beat you to the water. You paddled out to where the guys had stopped and put your leash on.

"Not fair." You growled at Cc.

He laughed and shrugged, clearly not caring. A wave started to form and Ashley went for it, paddling fast enough to beat the break. You and Cc cheered as he stood up and rode the wave all the way back to shore. Next was Cc. He got pretty far but lost balance and fell off.

As you watched for a good wave, you felt something bump your board. You thought it was just Ash being an ass and trying to scare you again, since he's done it before. You didn't pay much attention to it and kept looking towards the horizon. Ashley and Cc had stayed on shore to drink some water so you were out here alone.

You felt your board get hit again, harder this time and started to get a little worried. Looking around you, you saw a shadow in the water underneath you. Suddenly, you felt pressure on your right leg and then a sharp pain. You tried to pull your leg out of the water, but something pulled you down off your board. You were in the water now, looking around frantically trying to see what had grabbed you.

You turned and saw the shadow again. You now realized it was a shark. It raced towards your board, attacking it and breaking it in half between it's jaws. You started trying to paddle towards the shore but were soon caught up in a large wave that held you to the ground.

As you tried to fight to get to the surface, your leash and half of the board got stuck under a pile of rocks. You tried your hardest to pull it out but it wouldn't  budge. You tried to reach for your ankle strap, but couldn't get it off before everything went black.

Ashley's POV:

I grabbed a bottle of water and turned back to watch (Y/N) catch a wave. I scanned the water but couldn't see her anywhere. I walked closer to the water and called her name but there was no answer. I was starting to panic.

"Ash!" Andy yelled.

He pointed to the shore next to me and I looked down to see half of (Y/N)'s surfboard washed up. I dropped my drink and ran out, calling and looking frantically for her. I saw the other half of her board tethered to something beneath the surface and immediately dived down to see (Y/N). She was unconscious and her leg was bleeding. I swam down to undo the the leash from (Y/N)'s ankle. I messed with it for a few moments before I finally got it undone and grabbed (Y/N) around the waist, pulling her up to the surface with me.

I drug her up to the shore and laid her in the sand. She wasn't breathing. I remembered what I had learned in the one CPR class I took and started pressing on her chest.

"C'mon (Y/N). Please baby. Please breathe." I whispered to her.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Jinxx looking down at me. He shook his head and I reluctantly stopped what I was doing. I pulled (Y/N) up and held her against me.

"Please don't leave me." I whispered in her ear.

At that moment, she coughed and choked up water, waking up. She looked up at me and wrapped her arms around me tightly, crying into me. She was shaking. Andy brought over a few towels and wrapped one around her shoulders while Jake wrapped one around her bleeding leg.

"Breathe baby. It's all okay now. I've got you." I said, rubbing her back and rocking her back and forth.

She eventually started to calm down and I picked her up and carried her to the truck, sitting her on my lap again. She leaned up against me, burying her head in my shoulder, her warm breath hitting my bare chest. Jake drove us to the hospital so she could get her leg taken care of.

While we waited, (Y/N) rested her head on my shoulder, still too weak to support herself.

----------

(Y/N) had needed 28 stitches and now had her leg all bandaged up. She was told to take it easy the next few days and not to walk on it so it could heal. I carried her from the truck inside to her bed, laying her down gently. I kissed her forehead and told her to go to sleep. As I got up to leave, she grabbed my hand and pulled me back.

"Stay. Please?" She asked, yawning.

"Of course baby."

I took my shirt off and changed into my pajama pants, climbing in next to her and pulling her up against me, being careful not to hurt her. She snuggled into my chest as I wrapped my arms around her. She finally fell asleep and I allowed myself to do the same.
