He Won't Settle for 2nd?

The two weeks went by fast, everyone prepared in their own way, each of them were determined to win. But, I already knew the outcome, Bakugou would win first place after Todoroki refused to use his fire on him. On-the-other-hand,  Tanjiro worked on his swordsmanship, and his overall strength. I too, worked on my swordsmanship, but I also worked with other weapons, such as; the plasma gun, staffs, melee blades, and bows. and some hand-to-hand combat. Tomioka did help us out whenever he got the chance, and so did Urokodaki.

But soon, it was time for the real deal. And I was hella nervous, I could feel my heart beating against my chest.

Come on! what was that breathing technique Tomioka Aniki thought me? The one that could help your mind feel at ease?!

I heard loads of chatter at the door., it was the other classes surveying the competition.

What's going on over there? oh whatever, I don't care.

Everyone was feeling at least a little nervous. Except Bakugou, and maybe Todoroki, you could never tell how that guy was feeling.

We all got changed into our gym uniforms, and headed to the prep room. And if I remember correctly, the declaration of war was about to happen soon.

I sat down in a chair and tried to calm my nerves.

Think! What was that breathing technique?!

"Y/N-san, are you alright?" A concerned Yaoyarozu asked.

I looked up at her " I'm fine" I smiled, I was obviously lying.

" You don't look fine. Now that I think about it, you looked distraught when Aizawa Sensei told us about the festival"

knowing that she had seen right through me, I put my head in my hands " gahhh... I'm so nervous..." I sighed in defeat.

Yaoyarozu sat down in the empty seat beside me and placed a comforting hand on my back. " It's okay to feel nervous!" She smiled "It may not look like it, but I bet everyone here is nervous too."

This lifted my spirts " Thank you Yaomomo.."

She smiled warmly at me.

"Todoroki... What is it?" Midoriya asked.

I looked over to the both of them.

" Objectively speaking.. I'm stronger than you. More Capable." Todoroki stated.

" Huh?! S-sure.."

ah fuck, here we go

"All Mights got his eye on you, doesn't he." Todoroki continued " now, I'm not about to pry into why that is, but.."

ha! ya right. "not about to pry" my ass.

"I will beat you"

Kaminari chimed up " ooh!! A declaration of war from the strongest in class?!"

Bakugou, who was sitting next to him while sitting crisscross applesauce, looked irritated.

Kirishima stood up to stop them " hey, man why pick a fight now?! We're about to go on..."

Todoroki shrugged him off " I really don't care. I didn't come here to make friends"

Midoriya looked down in dismay " Todoroki. I'm not sure why you felt the need...To tell me you'll beat me.. You're clearly stronger...And I can't measure up to most of the others here in skill...Objectively speaking, even..."

Kirishima spoke up " Don't be so negative, Midoriya. No need.."

" But...!" Midoriya spoke again. " everyone...even the kids from other courses are aiming for the top. And I'm... well, lemme say this. I'm not gonna fall behind."
