he teaches me how to skate

It was the next day and I was at the skating park, with the group. I am sitting on one of the benches, scrolling through my phone as Anthony tries to teach Avani how to skate. Jaden at the far end of the park is teaching Mads how to some skateboard trick, Nessa is with Quinton and Josh is with Olivia and Kio. And Dixie with Addison. At the corner of my eye, I see a bunch of girls walking my way, I look up to see it's Nadia and her friends. The Nadia who kissed my ex-boyfriend, a year ago. I put the thought behind me as I try and look occupied on my phone, I haven't seen Nadia around at school some say that she takes a year off sometimes to travel the world.

"Oh my gosh, y/n right?" said her annoying voice. I mentally groan to myself as I give her a fake grin as she takes a seat next to me.

"Girls, I'll meet you there?" she asked her friends. Her friends walk off as she stays sitting next to me.

"I didn't get the chance to say sorry, about the whole kissing thing last year" she answered, breaking the silence. I look over at her, not expecting that sort of answer.

"Thanks for apologising" I smiled.

"No problem, I was thinking that maybe we could start again? As friends?" she asked with a hopeful expression. 

"Of course Nadia," I said. She gives me a small smile and leans over to hug me.

"Thank you y/n," she said. I nodded as she stood up.

"See you later then?" she said. 

"See you" I smiled as I watched her catch up with her friends. 

"Y/N! COME ON STOP BEING A LONER!" shouted Olivia as she beckoned for me to join them. I chuckled as I jogged to them.

"How about you two try skating?" said Kio as he eyes me and Josh. My heart stops for a minute as I bring my gaze to Josh.

"Um sure," I said as I cleared my throat, I lead Josh over to a corner. In his hand is his skateboard, he plops it on the floor and gestured for me to stand on it.

"We don't have to do this if you don't want to," said Josh as he helps me keep my balance. 

"No it's fine" I shook my head as I feel his hands wrap around my waist, a shiver goes down my spine and I flinch.

"Hey, you are okay," said Josh. I took a deep breath in and nodded. His hands stop holding my waist, as I get my balance. He offers his hand, I take it. 

"Push your foot off and keep your balance," said Josh. My right foot pushes off the skateboard, as I hold Josh's hand I keep my balance and travel on the board. He lets go of my hand as I glide on my own, a small smile creeps up my face as the wind blows through my hair.

"WOO!" shouted Josh as he claps. I raise my hands up as I get off the skateboard. I pick the board off the floor and jog towards Josh.

"You are a natural" smiled Josh.

"Well, you are good at giving instructions" I replied as I got back onto the board. 

"Try again?" asked Josh. I nodded as I got back onto the board, I kick-off and let the skateboard do its thing.

"WOW Y/N, YOUR ROCKING THIS!" shouted Olivia as she stops and stares at me. I laugh as I get off the skateboard.

"Yall wanna grab some nachos?" asked Quinton, running up to me. I nodded with excitement as Dixie and Addison join us.

"Y/n is such a skater girl," said Addison.

"I know right, she got skills" giggled Dixie as we joined the rest of the group.

"We grabbing nachos!" shouted Quinton.

"Yum, my stomach is crying for some food" sighed Avani.

"Skating is such a workout" panted Jaden, Mads following behind him.

"You lazy butts" giggled Nessa as we reached our cars. I unlock mine and Mads and Nessa tumble in as well.

"Cannot wait for those tacos to get into my mouth" groaned Mads as she clicks on her seatbelt. I chuckled as I pull out of the skatepark parking. We finally reach there and the group practically runs to a table. We all order with hungry stomachs.

"Okay I am just gonna put this out there," said Olivia, making the room go silent. I try and swallow away the knot feeling that's forming in my throat, feeling that she might ask I and Josh.

"Did y/n and Josh like break up?" she asked as she looks at me and Josh. Josh glances over at me and runs his fingers through his hair. Gosh, I miss the feeling of his soft hair, I think to myself.

"We did" struggled Josh as he avoids looking at me after he says that. I nodded as I look at my shoes.

"Olivia seriously?" asked Kio. She shrugged.

"Not the time girl" whispered Mads. 

"I was curious okay!" she argued.

"Guys, can we not argue please?" I pleaded. Olivia's eyes meet with mine, she gives me a small nod.

"Sorry y/n" replied Kio. I shook my head and avoided looking at me.

"Excuse me," I said as I jumped over people to go to the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom and rush to the sink, opening the tap I cup my hands letting the water wash over my hands. I splash water on my face. I look up to the mirror, water dripping off my face and my makeup ruined. I let out an annoyed sigh and walk in small circles.

"You are overreacting you, idiot!" I spoke out loud. I groaned and pulled out several paper towels and whipped my face. I throw them angrily them into the bin.

"You go out there and ignore whatever happened at the park, okay y/n?" I said into the mirror. My own frustrated reflection stared right back at me. 

"Your gonna ignore what happened at the park?" said a voice. I turn around to see Josh peeking out the bathroom door.
