"You ready for the trip?" he asked me. I close the car boot and turn to him.

"Mhm," I said as I walked past him, back into the house. I hear him sigh as he follows after me.

"I am sorry if this is gonna be hard for you," said Josh, making me stop and turn around.

"What did you say?" I asked.

"I said, I am sorry if this whole trip thing is gonna be hard for you" he repeated. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"I am worried for you if I am making it awkward," I said angrily.

"This is gonna be a fun trip" he breathes heavily.

"Time of my life" I chuckled sarcastically.

"Ready to go kids?" asked Mrs Richards as she comes out with my mum and dad. I nodded and gave her a smile. We all walk to the car, I open the door to the backseat and climb into the middle seat. Josh opens the other door and sits next to me, and soon Mrs Richards opens the door on my side and takes a seat next to me.

"All set?" asked my dad, turning around to see us. I nodded and hear the car engine starting. Throughout the car ride, mostly I was listening to music from my earphones and Josh staring out the window. Avoiding eye contact. We finally reach the airport, I get out and take my suitcase and wheel it into the departures area.

"This way," said my mum as she leads us to the check-in area. After we check-in, we get our hang luggage checked and we are now eating before the flight.

"I swear airport food is the best" laughed Mrs Richards as she bites into her sandwich.

"Y/n, I saw some cheesecake over where Josh is. Go get some" said my dad. I nodded and walked to the cafe.

"Hey, can I have a slice of cheesecake?" I asked the man behind the counter. He takes out a brown bag and places the slice in.

"Still loving cheesecake?" asked Josh as he eyes me.

"Still do, and will never stop," I said as I give him a small smile, taking the bag and walking back to where our parents were sitting.

"Y/n seriously?" he asked.

"What Josh?" I asked him, turning around.

"Can we treat this situation like mature adults, you are nearly out of your senior year?" he said.

"Okay, so you want to forget what we had?" I asked.

"No, but-" he started.

"Don't even" I scoffed as I walked back to the table. I violently take the cheesecake out and eat it, leaning against the seat.

"What a jerk" I muttered to myself, as the adults' chatter.

"Come on let's head to our gate," said my mum as she stood up. I stand up and we all head to the gate, our seat numbers are soon called and we are finally boarding the plane. I take my seat next to the window and wait for my mum to put her bags away, so she can sit next to me.

"Josh, come sit with y/n," said my mother. I groan to myself, as Josh walks around and sits next to me.

"You've got to be kidding me" I complained as I looked over at my mum.

"We are in for one hell of a plane ride," said Josh as he puts his headphones on. I roll my eyes and sigh as I look out the window, my eyelids slowly closing.

3 hours later

"Y/n wake up" whispered Josh nudging me awake. I yawn, opening my eyes.

"The food is here," he said again. I look to see a food tray sitting on my tray table. I look at my food and poke it with a fork.

"Stop playing with your food" whispered Josh again. I give him a death glare.

"And stop bugging me," I said as I munch on a piece of watermelon. He shrugs and eats his own food, I finish my food and look at out the window. My fingers feel the plastic, the cold touching against my skin.

"It's beautiful isn't it?' asked Josh as he looks at me. White, fluffy-looking clouds float in the sky as I feel his breath against my skin.

"I guess," I said.

"Your boring," he said as he gave, his and my food tray's away to an air hostess.

"Whatever, how are you and Nadia?" I asked him, trying to be nice.

"We are good," he says.

"That's good" I replied.

"Well imma have a nap, see you soon," he said. I nodded and continue looking out the window. I hear him shuffle, I turn around to see him facing me. His eyelids closed, and his features perfect as always. I sigh to myself as I turn on the screen in front of me, I watch a bit of Aladdin and soon we are landing.

"Ladies, Gentlemen and cabin crew. Prepare for landing" said the captain.

The plane bumps down, shaking the whole cabin.

"Josh, come on" I whispered, shaking him awake. He rubs his eyes and slowly stands up, passing me my bag.

"I regret not watching as many movies" groans Josh.

"What did you do when I was asleep?" I asked him.

"I was texting Nadia and the boys, and I watched half of Toy Story," he said. I smiled to myself, imagining Josh watching Toy Story. But then he was texting Nadia, I gulp down a breath and looked over at him.

"What are you smiling about?" he asked.

"Nothing," I said.

"Your such a weirdo" he chuckled. My heart warmed, hearing his familiar laugh. I shrug the feeling off, thinking to myself that he has already moved on. Already has a girlfriend, is already over you, already falling for another girl, already put the idea of me behind him, already forgetting about us. My lungs take a deep breath in and put the thoughts behind my head.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to New York City, the current temperature is 27 degrees. We hope you enjoy your stay here, thank you for choosing our airlines" said the captain over the speaker. We exit the aircraft, grabbing our luggage and through security and we were out. We were in New York City.
